Great news for everybody looking forward to more gut-punching twists and turns amid plenty of dark comedy. HBO has finally unveiled the premiere date for its beloved series Barry's 3rd season. Now, many fans are sure to be happy about not only finally knowing when their favorite misunderstood assassin will return, but also knowing that it will be sooner than they may have thought.

Releasing the info on Twitter, the official HBO account teased just a tiny bit of what to expect in a new post. Barry Berkman/Barry Block (Bill Hader) looks suitably grizzled and miserable in the lone picture shared with the post, offering a less than optimistic teaser for what's to come for the Cleveland hitman who just wants to act. Given the potentially catastrophic cliffhanger that greeted viewers at the end of season 2, it's hard to imagine anything less for poor Barry.

"Barry is back and he’s ready for another shot at redemption," the tweet reads. "Season 3 premieres April 24 on @hbomax." After nearly 3 years of waiting with surprisingly little information received on season 3 of Barry, fans of the show are surely glad to finally see this oasis of a revelation. Barry himself certainly has a long way to go before having any hope of actual redemption, as the tweet suggests. So what can fans expect?

Barry sees Hader's titular contract killer travel from Cleveland to Los Angeles for a job with his partner Monroe Fuches (Stephen Root), only for things to not quite go as planned. During his time in the city of expensive everything, he discovers a passion for acting while scoping out his target at a class run by Gene Cousineau (Henry Winkler). While he still attempts to carry out the hit, he encounters plenty of shady characters along the way like the affable NoHo Hank (Anthony Carrigan) and even falls for acting classmate Sally Reed (Sarah Goldberg).

Season 2 ended with Barry seemingly finding his place after trying his hardest to leave his old life behind. Unfortunately, Fuches wasn't particularly thrilled with the idea. So after Barry killed Detective Janice Moss (Paula Newsome) at the end of season 1 to preserve his secret, the final shot of season 2 shows Fuches telling Gene (who was in a relationship with Detective Moss) that it was Barry who killed her.

That alone is enough to ignite plenty of suspense going forward for the show, and there are sure to be more twists and turns along with it. Now that audiences have a definitive date for the continuation, all that's left to do is wait in agony. Fans are good at that sort of thing, right?

Barry will premiere its 3rd season April 24th on HBO Max.
