Video games have their fair share of characters with interesting or funny personalities that entertain the player. One such example of this is those poor characters that try so hard to find love through flirting with NPCs or the player but just fail miserably at getting their point across.
Although very unfortunate for them, it can be hilarious to the player that has witnessed this display of affection get completely shut down or just wasn't the best attempt to begin with. Many games, especially from the role-playing genre, have these lovable flirts with terrible pick-up lines that still somehow has the player rooting for them.
10 Bloodhound – Apex Legends
Bloodhound may not actually class as being a flirt though as of recently in Apex Legends a sort of relationship is forming between them and Fuse. Any fans of the franchise will recall when Fuse was introduced into the game through a clip where he attempted to tap the behind of Bloodhound which ended with a gun pointed at him.
Since then, they have been doing pretty well, other than their hilarious banter between the two of them. Bloodhound commonly refers to Fuse accidentally as 'My Mate' trying to mimic the Australian lingo of Fuse though it always comes off more romantic than intended, causing Bloodhound to fluster whenever Fuse questions it.
9 Henry – Firewatch
The story of Firewatch is one that many players have come to enjoy. This adventure game takes the player on a journey of a man named Henry who is a ranger for the forest of Wyoming making sure that no fires are set. He's all alone minus the person on the other side of the radio.
This person turns out to be a woman called Delilah who Henry becomes close to. However, listening to the romantic dialogue between the two of them is very tragic. Some players do consider the romance between them to be cringe while others find it funny as it is very evident that Henry does not know how to flirt with a woman. Especially through the form of a handheld radio no matter how hard he tries.
8 Broder – Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Broder is probably the most obnoxious and arrogant romance option in the whole of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, however, he is looking out for his brother and younger sister so many players can't blame him. After bonding with him players will have a chance at a brief romance.
It is really down to the player if they wish for Broder's attempts to flirt fail as he starts very aggressively flirting with Eivor. Players can let this moment continue which can lead to an even funnier moment of accidentally or purposely calling him his brother's name, poor Broder.
7 Mikael – The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim
Any player that has visited the Bannered Mare in Whiterun will have met the flirtatious bard Mikael. He currently doesn't have much of a reputation in Skyrim but as he says he's working on that one lady at a time.
As much as he thinks of himself as a heartthrob nobody else in the city seems to feel the same way about him. It's funny to sit inside the tavern hearing him fail to flirt his way out of paying tabs. Players may even get to teach Mikael a lesson to watch his flirting, especially when it comes to successful independent women like Carlotta who he won't leave alone.
6 Inigo/Laslow – Fire Emblem
Fire Emblem has a wide variety of flirtatious characters to pick from the entire franchise, but one flirt that seems to struggle is Inigo from Fire Emblem Awakening also going by the alias Laslow in Fire Emblem Fates.
In both games, Inigo tries his best to appear like an overconfident flirt that gets all the women, though deep under the surface is a very shy man just like his mother Olivia. Although he flirts with every woman he meets, Inigo is always being rejected, which can also be seen in many of his bonding dialogue with the women of Fire Emblem that is sure to make the player chuckle.
5 Alistair – Dragon Age Origins
The inexperienced Alistair may come as a surprise to players of Dragon Age Origins that would not think of him as a flirt. However, when initiating a romance with him the flirting he gets up to with the player is adorable but also very funny.
It's to be expected as Alistair admits that he has never really been with a woman before. But that doesn't stop him from saying some really silly things such as asking if the player has ever licked a lamppost in winter, which may be a suggestive line, though it's also very confusing. At least he's got spirit.
4 Garrus Vakarian – Mass Effect
Garrus may be one of the best romances available to players in the Mass Effect franchise, but that doesn't stop him from being one of the worst flirts in the game. He is very charming but this poor Turian is new to love, especially one that crosses species.
He tries his best to be romantic, such as in one fond scene where he even tries to get the music and a bottle of wine to make it a special moment. It all comes off as a bit too much to Shepard who must encourage him to not try so hard.
3 The Sole Survivor – Fallout 4
NPCs aside the player character themselves in Fallout 4 can be quite the hilariously terrible flirt. In order to successfully romance a character, a player must first have a decent charisma skill, for end goal romances this skill should be at ten.
Failing to succeed the charisma roll for flirting with a character can have some funny repercussions as the Sole Survivor is completely shot down by the companion they are trying to swoon. Leaving the player to either reload and try again or walk away with their tail tucked between their legs.
2 Yu Narukami – Persona 4 Golden
Although Yu has his fair share of romances to try, which he does succeed in, at one point in the game players have the chance to compete against his classmates Yosuke and Kanji in a pickup contest at Okina Station.
The aim of the contest is to pick up as many women as possible, and the pickup lines are awful. Although you would think Yu is great at picking up women, some of his lines are very funny, while others are blunt such as simply admitting to two old women that he's trying to hit on them.
1 Geralt – The Witcher Series
Geralt seems to get all the maidens around while exploring the world, however, many players are surprised how this is even possible with the flirts he comes out with. A rugged appearance and deep voice can only take a man so far before what they say is questioned, and many of the things this Witcher says should be questioned.
One of his worst flirting moments is with Yennefer while they are at a funeral where he just can't help himself and compliments how nice she smells...not the greatest timing Geralt.
