At the time of its launch just before Halloween, Back 4 Blood was tearing up the online gaming sphere as millions of players were enticed into the undead co-op shooter. Of course, it's not a perfect game by any stretch, with some concerned about a number of issues. One of the biggest problems fans seemed to have is now being rectified, with Back 4 Blood implementing an offline single-player mode with achievements in a future update. Another issue was the sheer number of special Ridden that would come at players. With regard to this, it looks like Turtle Rock Studios has fixed this error, and has even acknowledged community concerns.

In a recent tweet, the developer has admitted that Back 4 Blood was not supposed to have that many special zombies spawning at once. The post goes on to say that it was due to them "duplicating their spawn cards" which seemed to get worse as players progressed through the game. On top of that, a recent patch has been rolling out which allegedly fixes this issue, though some commenting on Twitter seem doubtful about the improvement.

Despite its success, Back 4 Blood has encountered some issues that need fixing, such as better AI and improvements to the difficulty scale. The overabundance of the special Ridden is just one thing that fans have been disappointed with. With this latest update, the studio assures players that some of these issues have now been resolved, but some have mentioned that the special enemies are still attacking in droves, leaving some to feel that Turtle Rock has not yet managed to rectify this problem.

It is good that the developers have acknowledged that this was a mistake, and that Turtle Rock is taking steps to make improvements. It's a game that has been hyped up for some time, and while it's thoroughly enjoyed by many gamers, there are still some things that seemingly need to be ironed out. Having said that, Back 4 Blood's AI system is now supposed to be better, which was another huge bug that was taking players out of the experience.

The overall buzz around the Left 4 Dead spiritual successor may have died down somewhat now that it's been out for a month, and Halloween is over, but it still has a chance to build a dedicated fanbase.

Back 4 Blood is available right now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
