Awesome Games Done Quick features many of the best speedrunners in the world of gaming. The players commentate as they play through their selected game, beating games that took normal players hours in the span of minutes. AGDQ's annual events are broadcast for free, with all donations going towards charity. AGDQ has recently released its full lineup for the 2021 marathon.

In 2021, AGDQ will host its speedrunning event from January 3rd until January 10th, and broadcast every minute of it on Twitch. Instead of the normal setup, with audiences cheering on the commentators, Games Done Quick 2021 will be completely online due to Covid-19 restrictions. After last year's Summer Games Done Quick event was postponed, the online approach will allow AGDQ to run the event as planned. Fans can view the event schedule on its website.

No official in-person gathering will be happening for Awesome Games Done Quick 2021. AGDQ plan on using a new virtual reality interactive audience that viewers can virtually join the audience. Viewers can help control the virtual crowd using emotes in the stream chat.  While the event is always free to watch and enjoy, the virtual crowd experience will allow viewers to be more involved in the event than usual.

This year the event will benefit the Prevent Cancer Foundation, with donations during the stream and on the site going directly to the charity. Professional speedrunners will be giving their time to commentate while they play their practiced games for viewers. The full line-up of games and speedrunners can be found on the AGDQ website. With 2020's Awesome Games Done Quick event being the largest so far, viewers can look forward to the 2021 event being even bigger.
