A 15 year old Twitch streamer gets emotional live on stream after raising a huge amount of money for charity. In a clip widely shared on social media, the streamer can be seen hugging his mother as he explains what he has just succeeded in doing.
Twitch streamer averageharrry was hosting a 12 hour long charity stream this week when the emotions got to him. The streamer is overcome with tears as he tells his mother, who is just off screen, that his charity stream has raised more than £4,000 or $4,800 USD. The moment is a heartwarming one to watch as pure tears of joy stream down the streamers face. In the clip, Averageharrry is crying so much much that his mother has to ask him if he's okay, which, he is, he's just amazed by how much money has been raised. More than 190,000 people have now watched the Twitch clip of the emotional moment and it has more than 6,000 upvotes on Reddit.
Averageharrry has now responded to the thread saying that "this is me in the clip." The streamer also responded to accusations that he is a fraud as he can seen some messages saying as much. The 15 year old said that "for anyone who wants to know," when he gets paid on September 15, he will donate the money to Great Ormond Street Hospital, a children's hospital in London which treats more than 600 patients a day. It's an incredibly worthy cause and has earned averageharrry several messages of praise, with some Reddit users calling the teenager a "king," "the real MVP," and an "absolute champion."
Twitch streamers are no stranger to controversy. Often, when Twitch clips get as many views as the video of averageharrry crying about charity donations, it's because a streamer has done something controversial. Dr Disrespect got banned from Twitch for streaming from a bathroom and many more have been banned for saying or doing something offensive on the platform.
So, many are delighted to see people come together over such a wholesome moment. These moments don't happen often, say several responses on Reddit, making achievements like averageharrry's all the more special.
It also shows that small streamers can be a force for good too and that audience doesn't limit kind actions. Averageharry has just 1,205 followers on the platform, which is a far cry from the many followers and Twitch subscribers that some other streamers have. However, that didn't stop him from raising such a phenomenal amount of money that Great Ormond Street Hospital will surely appreciate.
