Since the COVID-19 crisis began, businesses have moved to cancel events or push back release dates on their products. As a result, many industries have been hit hard, such as the film industry with empty theaters across the world losing money. When the pandemic ends in the future, delayed movies will finally begin airing, but it's possible that older blockbusters could return, like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

As part of the last few movies in Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Infinity War and Endgame brought over 12 years of superhero films to a satisfying end. The films shattered multiple box office records and Endgame would go on to become the highest-grossing film of all time. As the 1-year anniversary of Endgame has just passed, the Russo brothers who directed the films had more to say about a potential rerun.

Joe Russo said during a recent interview that it would be a career highlight if both Marvel films made a return for fans and to help the film industry once the pandemic is over. Russo explains that the theatrical experience brings together audiences world-wide and the emotional connection from the films is still going with release-day theater reactions causing Endgame to trend on social media recently. If it can help, the Russo brothers are more than happy to rerun the movies.

Although it's still uncertain when it will be safe to go back to theaters, the combination of Infinity War and Endgame, which made $890 million dollars during its first run, will give some much-needed help to the film industry. Furthermore, the films will renew interest in the MCU going into Phase 4 within the next year.
