A new tabletop game set in the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra is due out next year, followed by two add-ons.

Avatar: The Last Airbender has been noted as a groundbreaking television suitable for both children and adults, not only for its strong messages but for its skillful world building. The expansive universe of Avatar has resulted in a call for an open-world video game series as well as other mediums for fans to explore the world around Aang and his gang. Now, a tabletop roleplaying game led by Magpie Games will make that experience possible.

ViacomCBS Consumer Products has made a multi-year licensing agreement to produce a tabletop game set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. Though it's not yet been announced where in the timeline the tabletop game will take place, Republic City will be a location in the game, so it could be anytime after the end of ATLA. Like Dungeons & Dragons, the playbook will provide tools to build the protagonists of the story, who will even be able to travel to the spirit world to rescue civilians.

According to ViacomCBS, the company felt Magpie Games was the right pick to tackle the popular Avatar: The Last Airbender universe because of its dedication to supporting diverse content alongside its strong track record in tabletop gaming, such as with ROOT: The RPG. Players will be able to settle disputes between regions, protect citizens, and face their destiny in this upcoming game.

The unnamed Avatar-centric game is slated to release February 2022, with two supplemental add-ons titled Republic City and The Spirit World due August 2022 and February 2023 respectively.

The Avatar: The Last Airbender TTRPG is set to release February 2022.
