The fan-favorite Nickelodeon television series Avatar: The Last Airbender continues to make waves 15 years after it first premiered. Netflix added Avatar into its catalog on May 15, and since then it has appeared in the streaming service's "Top 10 Shows" list longer than any other program.

Avatar: The Last Airbender broke this record when it surpassed the 57-day streak of Ozark, Bill Dubuque's American crime drama series that began its three-season run in 2017, on July 15. According to Forbes, most of the shows on the list of longest-streaking "Top 10" series are produced and marketed by Netflix, including the viral documentary series Tiger King at 50 days, the dating reality show Love is Blind at 39 days, and the controversial teen drama 13 Reasons Why at 27 days.

Netflix began its Top 10 feature in February, around when the ongoing coronavirus pandemic began to spread widely and leave many stuck at home with extra time to binge-watch shows. The success of this older animated gem is likely partially due to these world circumstances, but the series quality and strong fandom have also led to Netflix working on a live-action adaptation of Avatar.

While the fan-favorite Nickelodeon show has seen a resurgence thanks to its tenure on Netflix, the service has seen success with its own animated offerings as well. An adaptation of Konami's Castlevania series has gotten three seasons on Netflix, and the service has announced more series for the indie platformer Cuphead and CD Project Red's upcoming Cyberpunk 2077.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is available now on Netflix.
