Hi-Rez's SMITE has done a lot to stay relevant and keep its playerbase happy. New additions to the roster have been regular, and from a diverse assortment of sources. Hi-Rez has even teamed up with Prophecy Games to create the Smite auto-chess game Prophecy.

One of the biggest draws for Smite is the diverse group of characters to draw from. Divine beings and monsters have been pulled for the game from everything from Russian folklore to Japanese Shinto tradition. Even the Lovecrat Mythos has been tapped, as well as legendary English figures like King Arthur and Merlin.

Not long ago, Hi-Rez announced that Smite would receive Avatar: The Last Airbender content. Specifically, Aang, Zuko, and Korra, from the sequel series Avatar: The Legend of Korra, would make their way to the game as skins. The game's update today has officially introduced the three into the game. There are two different skins of each character.

The different Avatar skins are very well chosen for who they represent. Aang is a skin for Merlin, whose magical abilities fit well with Aang's destructive elemental prowess. Zuko is a skin for Susano, mostly emphasizing his swordplay over his firebending. Korra is a skin for Skadi, with her pet polar bear Naga standing in for Kaldr, the Winter Wolf (makes sense). All three are available with Smite's new battle pass, with each second skin being part of a prestige track. Skadi players have plenty to look forward to, since Korra's voice actor reprised he role for the skin's voicelines.

SMITE is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
