The Coronavirus has affected many industries, and the movie industry is no exception. Following a filming delay in mid March, the highly anticipated Avatar 2 will begin filming again shortly. Of course, there will be some heavy restrictions on this, as the film is being shot in New Zealand.

Avatar 2 is one of the first movies to resume filming since so many have had to put things on hold, so it seems the team is trailblazing in more ways than one. After last year's fiasco of Avenger's Endgame catching up with and surpassing the original Avatar, fans of James Cameron's masterpiece are ready for a sequel.

The filming crew are placing themselves under a two week quarantine after arriving in New Zealand and before filming will start. This safety measure should ensure that none of the crew has the Coronavirus once filming starts, and additional safety precautions will be put in place to insure no one catches it after that.

What this means as far as an Avatar 2 release date is still anyone's guess, but it seems that it may be closer than many had originally thought. If this crew is able to continue filming it may not be long before others start to follow suit and movies exit their current stasis.

Avatar 2 has resumed filming.
