The Attack on Titan The Final Season Special Event 2022 held in Tokyo over the last weekend led to the reveal of a brand-new key visual for the upcoming final installment in the epic series. The new visual features Eren in his Founding Titan form surrounded by varied main characters of the series.The upcoming installment, titled Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3, was announced at the conclusion of The Final Season Part 2 in April this year. It is set to broadcast sometime in 2023, but no definite details have been released at this point.RELATED: Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 AnnouncedThe Attack on Titan anime is based on the original manga by Hajime Isayama, published in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from September 2009 to April 2021. The manga series ran for 34 volumes, spanning 139 chapters. The first season of Attack on Titan aired in Japan as Shingeki no Kyojin and ran for 25 episodes from April to September 2013.It was a four-year wait for the second season, which was broadcast in 2017 and ran for 12 episodes from April to July of that year. The third season, which was split into two twelve-episode cours, premiered in July 2018, with the second half coming in April 2019. The series has also spawned a number of OVAs, an animated spin-off titled Attack on Titan: Junior High; a live-action movie, and even a number of video game adaptations of the Attack on Titan story.

Attack on Titan: The Final Season first premiered in December 2020 and ran for 16 episodes. It was streamed with English subtitles on Crunchyroll and Funimation; with Funimation streaming the series' English dub in January 2021. The sequel, The Final Season Part 2 began to broadcast in January 2022 and ran for 12 episodes.

Both installments of Attack on Titan: The Final Season were both produced by Studio MAPPA, which took over from WIT Studio for the franchise's climactic final arc. The upcoming Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 is expected to be the adaptation of the contents of the last volume of the manga, which covers chapters 134 to 139. The entire anime series thus far is available for streaming on the Crunchyroll streaming platform. The Final Season Part 3 will broadcast sometime in 2023.
