Ever since Persona 4 Golden released on PC, fans of the series have been actively enjoying the game. Whether they are returning to the game or experiencing it for the first time, the PC version of Persona 4 Golden has seen a great deal of success. Within the last several weeks especially, Atlus has begun to take note of the attention the PC port has received.

While the Persona series has existed since the late 90s, its presence was largely limited to PlayStation consoles and hardware. It wasn't until the release of the Xbox 360 port of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax where Atlus really started to expand the company's titles to other platforms. In fact, the release of Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth was exclusively for the 3DS and that was nearly twenty years after the release of the very first Persona title.

However, as the years have gone on, Atlus has begun to realize that expanding the company's titles to other platforms outside of PlayStation systems is something that a lot of people want. Many in the gaming community were very excited when Catherine: Full Body was ported to Nintendo Switch. Though, it wasn't until the PC port of Persona 4 Golden when the company started to seriously consider the idea of cross platform releases and ports of older games.

When asked in a recent interview about the possibility of PC ports of older titles, an Atlus representative responded by saying that the company plans to release more ports similar to Persona 4 Golden, with multi-platform releases in mind. This response makes sense considering the announcement of an HD port of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne for Nintendo Switch and PS4.

Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne

If the PC port of Persona 4 Golden and the HD Remaster of Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne is any indication of the future, the gaming community could see a widespread release of multiple Atlus titles coming to a variety of platforms. Perhaps this will give fans who have been asking for a remaster of Persona 3 newfound hope.

Though, without official word from Atlus in terms of what games will be ported or remastered, there's no way of knowing what's to come. Based on the large catalog of games that Atlus has to choose from, who's to say what game could receive a port or a remaster? As of now, there's no telling what Atlus has in store for fans in the future, but in terms of the games currently announced, fans have a lot to be excited about.
