Sony's PlayStation 5 console is set to launch in just over a month's time, and everyone that buys one will get a free game. Astro's Playroom comes packed-in with every PlayStation 5 console, with the game acting as a sort of tech demo to show off the unique capabilities of the PS5 console as well as the DualSense controller. Now creative director Nicolas Doucet has revealed some more details about what fans can expect from the free PS5 pack-in game.

As revealed by Doucet in an interview with Famitsu, Astro's Playroom will give players about four to five hours of playtime, which isn't bad at all for something that's completely free. The game will consist of four worlds for players to explore, which will apparently be called Cooling Resort, GPU Jungle, SSD Speedway, and Memory Sky. These worlds will reportedly be "filled" with collectibles and PlayStation easter eggs for players to find, though it's unclear if the four to five hour playtime is in reference to a single playthrough or 100% completion.

Even after players complete the main story of Astro's Playroom, the game will still offer fans more to do. It's been confirmed that Astro's Playroom will have a Time Attack mode, which should go a long way in boosting the game's replay value, plus there will be an online ranking system as well. And while it wasn't explicitly stated, it's quite likely that Astro's Playroom will support PS5 trophies, though it remains to be seen whether or not players will be able to unlock a Platinum trophy from playing it.

Typically, smaller-scale PlayStation games forego having a Platinum trophy for players to unlock, with some exceptions. Astro's Playroom being so short means that it's more likely that it will just have some lower-tier trophies for players to unlock as opposed to a Platinum trophy. Then again, Sony is making some changes to trophies with the PS5, so fans will likely just have to wait to try the game for themselves to be sure.

While fans wait to try Astro's Playroom, they may want to use the time between now and the PlayStation 5's launch to try some other games in the series. Astro's Playroom was preceded by The Playroom and The Playroom VR, which, similarly to how Astro's Playroom is free to PS5 users, is free to those on PS4. There's also the critically-acclaimed Astro Bot Rescue Mission for those with PlayStation VR headsets as well.

Astro's Playroom launches November 12, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
