Thus far, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has featured a number of festivals celebrating various aspects of Norse culture. One dataminer and leaker known as Pedder has managed to find information on these ahead of time, and now he’s done so again. POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD.
As seemingly first shared by YouTuber andyreloads with shots of Pedder’s datamining, it seems the next festival Pedder has managed to find is the Oksoreia Festival, otherwise known as the Festival of The Wild Hunt. Furthermore, andyreloads speculates that this Assassin’s Creed Valhalla festival will begin on October 12, which makes sense give the game’s 5-week title update schedule.
While certain elements from past festivals are set to return in The Wild Hunt festival, there are quite a few new details reportedly mentioned in the game files as well. Many fans are likely excited for the return of the Archery contest, as well as Tournament-like structures, but the central theme of the festival is avoiding The Wild Hunt.
To do so, players will unlock several new quests in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that revolve around honoring the dead, traveling to the nether realm, discovering Odin runes, protecting Ravensthorpe, and more. Players will also unlock new combat options while mounted, as they are required to complete some horseback challenges during this festival. Overall, it’s a more interesting story at least as seen through various dialogues and mentions, with equally satisfying gameplay options. There’s the caveat, however, that it has yet to release, so the quality of the festival compared to others remains to be seen.
The festival will reportedly end with Eivor declaring Ravensthorpe safe from the Wild Hunt, although it doesn’t seem Eivor will face them head-on at any point. Rewards for this Assassin's Creed Valhalla festival seemingly include a new Scythe, a new armor set, a new Raven skin, new hair and beard cosmetic for Eivor, and perhaps a little more. There’s no code indicating that this festival will include any cosmetic rewards for the settlement whenever it does release.
Currently, the last item on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s fall 2021 schedule is the Norse Discovery Tour, which is set to release on October 19. Not only does that add up for when this festival would need to release to fit in the timeline, but it also may help players know when the current slate of content comes to an end. More events and DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are slated for 2022, though, so fans will want to stay tuned in for further updates.
