While there are several intimidating Vikings that players will face off against throughout Assassin's Creed Valhalla's campaign, some of the most difficult enemies in the game come in the form of the legendary animals found throughout England.

With a power level of 400, Steinnbjorn is by far the most challenging of all the legendary animals to defeat. As a result, players should make sure that they are sufficiently geared and leveled before attempting to take on the boss, even on lower difficulties.

Unlike the majority of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's legendary animals, Steinnbjorn is located in Jotunheim, which is accessed by progressing through Valka's questline in Ravensthorpe. For Valka to appear in Ravensthrope, players must first upgrade their settlement to level 4, and should have built the "Seer's Hut" which has a resource cost of 800 supplies and 60 raw materials.

Upon constructing the "Seer's Hut" and completing the subsequent Asgard questline, Eivor will return from his vision to England and a new quest will be available through Valka called "Going Deeper." After collecting the necessary ingredients required for the vision potion and turning them in to Valka, the player will be transported to Jotunheim.

To find Steinnbjorn, simply travel north from the "Serpents Tree" high point until the player reaches a large frozen lake at the side of a mountain. It is worth noting that unlike the other legendary animal locations, Steinnbjorns' will not appear on the map and will only show up after the player triggers the boss fight.

Before taking on Steinnbjorn, make sure to have sufficient rations and arrows before starting the fight. It is also useful for the player to have "Focus of the Nornir" and the ranged and melee "Fire Strike" abilities equipped. Don't be fooled by Steinnbjorns impressive size, as he is surprisingly nimble for a giant bear made out of ice and rock.

At the start of the fight, the first priority should be to use Eivor's bow to target Steinnbjorn's weak points, which when hit will allow the player to perform a stun attack that does significant damage. Ideally, of all the bow types in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the light bow is best suited for this fight. After performing the stun attack Steinnbjorn will now grow ice crystals in points around his body. When all of the ice crystals are broken, Steinnbjorn will collapse temporarily which should allow ample time to activate the fire strike ability and get several hits on him at close range. This process can be repeated throughout the fight.

Due to Steinnbjorns size and speed, targeting his weak points and ice crystals is not nearly as easy as it is with the other legendary animals. As a result, the "Focus of the Nornir" ability is ideal to break the crystals as it allows the player to move freely around Steinnbjorn with time slowed down, and does not waste any arrows in the remaining inventory.

After defeating Steinnbjorn players can rest assured knowing that no other enemy will compare in terms of difficulty throughout the remainder of Valhalla's campaign.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
