[UPDATE: Ubisoft has confirmed the Siege of Paris DLC release date as August 12th. Original story follows.]

Right now, not much is known about Assassin's Creed Valhalla's upcoming Siege of Paris DLC. It was recently shown off a little at Ubisoft Forward, the general premise is known, and an old achievement leak gave fans some ideas on content and features possibly coming to the DLC. It was rather accurate regarding the Wrath of the Druids DLC, so it seems Siege of Paris will likely be similar although that remains to be seen.

Fans don't know a specific release date either, but Ubisoft did say that Assassin's Creed Valhalla's second DLC would release this summer. With the seaon almost over, many are likely curious as to when the new DLC would drop. Thankfully, a recent leak seems to suggest fans will know more soon.

First pointed out by CriptAssassassINI (and sent in by a fan), it seems that Xbox listed the release date for the Siege of Paris DLC as August 5th. The fan noticed this mention on the game's Xbox page, but it seems that the release date was also quickly removed. There are plenty of reasons to take this as a genuine date, as well as a few reasons to take this as false. Either way, it would make sense for Xbox to remove the date given it wasn't announced by Ubisoft (and still hasn't been, as of this writing).

If this is false, then the likeliest scenario is that this date is a placeholder for the page on Xbox. However, August 5th is oddly specific and unlikely, as they typically come at the end of a specific window. If the date was something like August 31st, then that would be a believable placeholder as it comes near the beginning of fall.

Since August 5th still makes it a summer release, and August 5th itself is a Thursday, there's a decent change this leak is legit. Thursday is important here, as while most video game releases take place on a Tuesday or a Friday, DLC doesn't really fit into that rule. Looking at Wrath of the Druids DLC, it was scheduled for April 29 originally before being pushed back to May 13, both of which were Thursdays.

Either way, assuming that August 5th is Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Siege of Paris release date, fans won't have to wait much longer to find out. A proper reveal, announcement, and more information would likely be made available soon as that's not even two weeks away. Still even, if it is false but Siege of Paris is still aiming for a summer release, then more info can't be far away. Said info could even be a delay, but time is dwindling on Siege of Paris' release window.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
