The first paid DLC for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Wrath of the Druids, released on May 13, with the emphasis on players traveling to Ireland and coming up against the druidic cult known as the Children of Danu. Unfortunately, the DLC had no ties to one of the core elements within the main campaign, The Hidden Ones, who are the precursor to the Assassins Brotherhood.

Fans hoped that with The Siege of Paris would come the involvement of the Hidden Ones, but their inclusion is unlikely according to reliable French leaker J0nathan, who has delivered some new information on what to expect from the second paid DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. While this remains only a rumor, it's good to note that Jonathan also leaked the achievement list for the first DLC, which turned out to be accurate.

The leak also states that the DLC will take place in 885, set after the main story's events, which take place in 877. Additionally, a line of dialogue either by Eivor or a random NPC will reference the Hidden Ones. "Just as they were in England, the Hidden Ones seem absent in Francia. What treasures could they have left behind?" This could be hinting at the possibility that players will likely find gear or loot that might be related to the Hidden Ones, but that's just speculation. Moreover, the leak does mention through the achievement list that the Order of the Ancients will be present once more and that Eivor will need to hunt these members down in the same fashion as the main game.

Like Wrath of the Druids, players will meet a character that arrives at Ravensthorpe, triggering the new DLC. The synopsis for the DLC also hints at Charles the Fat being a target that Eivor will likely need to assassinate, especially since Charles the Fat will be waging war against the Norse. However, last fans saw, Alfred the Great disassociated himself from the Order of the Ancients in the pursuit of forming the Templars that players have grown to know throughout the franchise. It seems that whatever remaining members of the Order will be the last of their kind before the Templars are adequately established.

Regardless, it's disappointing that the Hidden Ones won't be more prevalent in this DLC after Wrath of the Druids wholly ignored them. One of the more exciting elements of the main game was finding Hidden Ones bureau codex pages, which aimed to expand the lore of the proto-Assassins. It appears that, as a whole, Valhalla is more interested in the Order of the Ancients, likely because this is the last game before the traditional Templars return. According to the PlayStation store, one last bit of information that's good to note is that the leak mentions that a potential release date for the Siege of Paris DLC is November 9, 2021.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
