Several issues with Assassin's Creed Valhalla have been pointed out by players since the title was released in 2020, such as the various festivals at Ravensthorpe not triggering for some players and others being unable to finish certain missions. In addition to these problems, one Assassin's Creed Valhalla player has discovered an ongoing issue with a reindeer they've encountered that charges them while they're peacefully loitering at camp.

Reddit user Shiny_puffy_llama recently shared a clip of their Assassin's Creed Valhalla adventure in which they're standing in one of the many Norse camps scattered around the European countryside. Walking alongside several unnamed NPCs, Eivor is suddenly charged at by a reindeer that appeared from behind the player, which suggests it could've come from a great distance or spawned out of nowhere. This enraged deer quickly causes havoc in the Norse location and even continues its onslaught when Eivor gets drunk during one of the drinking challenge mini-games.

Shiny_puffy_llama's clip begins with Eivor being insulted by a nearby Norseman who thinks she's an incompetent drinker as part of a provocation to drink. Before she can react, Eivor and some nearby NPCs are swatted at by the charging reindeer's massive horns, knocking down and damaging four of them before running away. Despite being assaulted by the wild reindeer, Eivor responds to the Norse Warrior's words with some witty ones of her own as she recovers from the attack.

Suspecting that the reindeer's attack had finished, Shiny_puffy_llama's Assassin's Creed Valhalla clip continues with the player walking over to two barrels and accepting the Norse Warrior's drinking challenge. This triggers the Valhalla drinking game as usual, but instead of an unimpeded competition, Eivor is charged once again by the reindeer, who gets stuck on the fellow drinker while unsuccessfully trying to hit them with its hooves. All of these antics transpire to the harmony of a nearby Bard who sings of the barley and other ingredients in Assassin's Creed Valhalla used to make the mead.

Although the Assassin's Creed Valhalla video concludes before Eivor's drinking game, it's likely that the reindeer's assault continued once the player succeeded or failed in the mini-game. While some Assassin's Creed Valhalla players have voiced their displeasure about similar occurrences in their adventure in the game, others have stated they intentionally kill deer they see so that this issue never affects them. It's currently unclear what's causing the reindeer to continue attacking the Assassin's Creed Valhalla player so far from its natural habitat, but there may be some pathing issues keeping it locked on to Eivor.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now for Google Stadia, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
