Last April, Ubisoft finally confirmed Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which is the upcoming installment to the popular action-adventure stealth franchise. At the moment, Assassin's Creed Valhalla's release date is still unknown, but Ubisoft revealed that the game will be launched sometime in Q4 2020. Now, the game is already up for pre-order on most major video game retailers, and those interested in pre-purchasing the game would be happy to know that Walmart is already offering discounts for Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

At the moment, the pre-order for Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available at Walmart for $49.94, or 17% cheaper than most retailers who are offering the game for the full price of $59.99. Unfortunately, Walmart's deal is only applicable to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, so players on the PC or those who are planning to get the game for next-generation consoles have to look elsewhere. However, players who will pre-order the game will receive a bonus exclusive mission.

To the uninitiated, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will serve as the 12th major installment and the twenty-second release overall in the Assassin's Creed franchise. The game is set in 837 AD and will be recounting an alternative history to the Viking invasion of Britain. Players will take control of Eivor, who is a Viking raider caught in the conflict between the Brotherhood of Britain and the Templar Order.

Immediately after its announcement, Ubisoft also released the game's first cinematic trailer, which also confirmed its release window of Q4 2020. The preview introduces players to the Viking culture and showed a brutal and bloody war, which is definitely reminiscent of the battle that took place in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. During the battle that was showcased in the cinematic trailer, the protagonist is seen expressing faith in Odin, before pulling out a hidden blade, confirming that the protagonist is an Assassin.

Moreover, players would be happy to know that Assassin's Creed Valhalla won't be featuring a loot box system, and won't be incorporating the randomized loot system as seen in Assassin's Creed Origins and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. In a statement released by the game's narrative director Darvy McDevvit, it has been revealed that "every piece of gear is unique in the game and [can be] upgraded extensively so that when you find a piece of gear, you're excited and celebrate it and that can stay with you for quite a long time."

Assassin's Creed Valhalla releases Holiday 2020 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
