The end of March 2021 saw a new patch update for Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which addressed some of the game-breaking issues caused by the title's colorful Ostara Festival event. A few weeks after the patch has been implemented, the festival is going in full swing for all players, which is probably why the development team has announced that the event's duration will be extended until mid-April.

Most active Assassin's Creed Valhalla players are likely familiar with the constant bugs and issues that the development team has had to address since the game's launch. The Ostara Festival bugs and issues had the devs disabling some of the features found in Ravensthorpe, which were crucial to completing the event-specific quests that were only available during the festival. Due to this, some players may have shelved the festivities, opting to continue the main narrative or finish side quests while the developers fixed the glitches. Now, with the event's extension, fans will be able to catch up on lost festival time, and hopefully be able to redeem all of the awards exclusive to the event.

In a recent tweet on the official Assassin's Creed Valhalla account, the team shared the announcement of the Ostara Festival event extension. The original dates of the festival were March 18 to April 8, 2021, and now the event will be ending on April 15 instead. Players will now have another full week to enjoy the spring-inspired festivities, go on Ostara Festival Easter egg hunts, defend the homestead from wayward spirits, and collect Festival Tokens to redeem the aesthetic rewards only obtainable during the festival.

Though the Ostara Festival brings forth new event-specific quests, many Assassin's Creed Valhalla fans have voiced their opinions on the Twitter thread stating that the event was just a reskin of the game's previous Yule Festival activities. Some have even said that with the Ostara Festival already going on for a month, most players have already redeemed all of the awards. This likely makes fans think that the extension is useless. Nevertheless, players will still get the extra week of Ravensthorpe being dressed in spring's blooms.

Fans have also noticed that the extension of the Ostara Festival is suspiciously close to the rumored release date of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla DLC, The Wrath of the Druids. With no official release date coming from the Ubisoft team about the game's first DLC, players will just have to tide themselves over with the festival until the new content rolls in.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
