Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be one of Ubisoft's first games to release on both current-gen and next-gen consoles. Ubisoft has been advertising that Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion will run at 60 fps in 4K resolution. However, a report now claims that both games may not run in native 4K on either the PS5 or Xbox Series X.

According to Beyond3D, Watch Dogs Legion runs with a dynamic resolution on the Xbox Series X. It's worth noting that Watch Dogs Legion can run with a minimum of 1440p, and some scenes in the game can hit a native 4K resolution, but it's not a constant. Similar to Watch Dogs Legion, Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla would run in upscaled 4K/60 fps on the PS5. However, Ubisoft has not specified the internal resolution that the game will eventually use.

Of course, while the PS5 and Xbox Series X have their own unique features, both next-gen consoles feature similar technology inside. Given this, it is assumed that both Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion will run at upscaled 4K instead of native 4K for both next-gen consoles. However, players should note that the exact graphics settings that both games will be using on next-gen consoles are still unknown. Assuming that these claims turn out to be true, it appears that only the PC will be able to run Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion in native 4K resolution, but of course, only time will tell once both games are released on next-gen consoles.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft announced several days ago that it is launching a short manga to promote Assassin's Creed Valhalla in preparation for its release in November. Ubisoft Japan revealed on Twitter that the comic depicts a brief encounter between Eivor and Thorfinn, the latter being the main character of Vinland Saga. Unfortunately, the manga is only six pages long, and it is assumed that its story will not form part of the existing canon of the Assassin's Creed franchise.

However, some fans were confused when the manga preview only included the male iteration of Eivor. However, since the Assassin's Creed Valhalla manga is not officially considered canon, it is likely a practical move on Ubisoft's part to only release one version of the character in the manga instead of creating two separate versions to depict both genders of Eivor. Nonetheless, fans of the female Eivor can at least imagine her to be in the manga since the character's figure is mostly obscured in the final panels.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla launches on November 10th for PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. It will release for PlayStation 5 on November 12th.
