As soon as the player finds a second weapon in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, they are able to start dual-wielding them. This gives a variety of benefits, but mostly it diversifies the types of attacks that Eivor is able to use against their opponents. Players still wanting more options for dual-wielding need look no further than the Heavy Dual Wield skill that lets Eivor dual-wield two handed weapons.

Weapons are classified in two ways in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Light weapons can be used in one hand and can always be dual-wielded with each other, but heavy weapon require two hands to wield. These include things like the two-handed sword and Dane axes.

In order to dual-wield these heavier weapons, players need to purchase several bear skill tree talents. As the player expands their skill tree, more abilities will become visible. Eventually, the Heavy Dual Wield talent should be revealed and players need simply unlock it with a skill point.

For those wanting a more direct path to unlocking the skill, Heavy Dual Wield can be found all the way on the left end of the skill tree. Starting from stomp, players should head left and up, passing by Dual Swap, Adrenaline Upgrade, and potentially Berserker's Mettle before finding Heavy Dual Wield. Even if the player is gunning straight for this skill and ignoring all others, it will require a somewhat heavy investment, but the feeling of dual wielding two Greatswords or a two-handed sword and a Dane axe like the Sepulcher Fire Axe is unmatched.

In order to get the skill points required to unlock this skill, players need to just explore the world. Finding certain wealth, completing mysteries, doing side quests, and making one's way through Assassin's Creed Valhalla's main story are all great ways to get more skill points, so it really just comes with playing the game. It's also important to remember that skill points can be respecced at any time for free, so players that want to test out the Heavy Dual Wield skill could remove all of their skill points and then take a direct route to the ability.

Some of Assassin's Creed Valhalla's powerful legendary weapons are two handed, including Exaclibur and Odin's spear, Gungnir. Players wanting to dual wield powerful weapons such as these will need to invest in this skill. After attaining the skill, dual-wielding heavy weapons is as simple as dual-wielding light ones, and players can just equip two weapons in their inventory.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
