Assassin’s Creed Valhalla seems to be changing the series up in a big way, and players will finally know if this is for better or worse very soon. Today, Ubisoft has announced that Assassin's Creed Valhalla has gone gold ahead of its November 10th release.

The Viking-themed Assassin’s Creed game has reached the end of its development journey, with the official Twitter account for the series posting the news earlier this morning. After the development team shares how proud they are of the game, they conclude the post by saying that “we can’t wait to see how your own Viking journey unfolds.” A special image with text reading “Gold” is also included in the post, with dual axes that can be wielded throughout AC Valhalla's gameplay incorporated as well.

With congratulations from both PlayStation UK and Xbox in the replies, as well as the official Cyberpunk 2077 account, plenty of eyes seem to be fixed on the game’s release. Featuring a reworked combat system that Ubisoft hopes will be an improvement over the one seen in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, as well as a returning Assassin’s Creed feature for assassinations, Valhalla seems to be aimed at bringing in new players while still appeasing old school fans.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will also touch on supernatural elements, particularly those regarding Norse mythology. While it is unclear if players will be welding weapons like Mjolnir or battling gods like Kratos, it is confirmed that the realms of Asgard and Jotunheim will be in AC Valhalla. How the game includes the fictional locations will be interesting, though the safe bet is through Animus glitches or dream sequences. The modern-day Assassin’s Creed setting and its protagonist Layla Hassan will also be seen in Valhalla.

How the newest Assassin’s Creed game performs when placed up against November’s other big releases like Cyberpunk 2077 will certainly be something to keep an eye on. After all, Ubisoft may even be attempting to replicate the previous success of its biggest November competitor, CD Projekt Red. AC Valhalla features an Orlog mini-game that aims to be just as addictive as Gwent was in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, though how popular the side game actually is among players remains to be seen. Regardless, both Cyberpunk 2077 and AC Valhalla should see sales boosts due to the release of next gen consoles.

With Assassin’s Creed Valhalla officially complete and now being mass produced, fans of the series will be filling the shoes of Eivor very soon. In just a few short weeks, players will be going on raids, carrying out assassinations, and petting AC Valhalla’s massive cats.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla releases November 10 on PC, PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with the PS5 version on November 12.
