Fans have waited patiently for the eventual release of the Siege of Paris DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, but that wait is finally over. The DLC officially released today, but despite this some players are having trouble accessing it. This isn't in reference to how to start the Siege of Paris DLC, but rather how to download it in the first place. For those players that bought it independently, the process is standard fair. Players purchase the DLC, install it, and then load up the game. On the other hand, those with the season pass are struggling a bit.

The season pass for Assassin's Creed Valhalla comes with both the Wrath of the Druids DLC that takes Eivor to Ireland and this most recent one, Siege of Paris, which sees Eivor travel to Francia. It's the cheaper route to take for players planning on getting both DLCs anyway, but it does come with a pesky side effect of making downloading the DLCs a bit more of a hassle.

Simply purchasing the Assassin's Creed Valhalla season pass actually doesn't do anything, and there will be no download involved. Instead, it gives the player the option to download the other two individual DLC packs for free rather than paying their standard price. In other words, players wanting to start the Siege of Paris DLC for Assassin's Creed Valhalla that purchased the season pass will still need to go to their platform's store and "purchase" the DLC for free. This will then prompt players to download and install it as normal.

The Siege of Paris file size seems to vary from platform to platform, but players will need at the very least around 10 GB of space freed up. On the other end of the spectrum, they may need to free up 30 GB for the new update, so be prepared for that. From then on, if the player loads up Assassin's Creed Valhalla, the new content should be immediately available. It is important to keep in mind that players must have first made it to England and started the settlement of Ravensthorpe. From there, it's as simple as tracking the new quest and speaking with Toka. She can be found to the east of Ravensthorpe a bit.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's Siege of Paris has been receiving far more praise than Wrath of the Druids, its Irish predecessor, so it's definitely worth checking this one out. Players that haven't purchased the DLC or the season pass yet can do so now. By itself, the expansion costs around $25, but the season pass that comes with other content as well is only $40.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
