There's a story in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla but most of the time, that's not the main attraction that keeps players glued in it like flies on flypaper. Because even before the Assassin's Creed franchise turned into fully-fledged RPGs, the costumes and outfits have always been the goal. Looking swag while taking down foes often takes priority than saving the world from a faux-Illuminati.

Come Assassin's Creed: Origins and beyond, these outfits have become more than just for show. The last three Assassin's Creed games have been slapping some juicy RPG stats on them; Assassin's Creed: Valhalla is no exception. Now, players don't just look stylish while brutalizing some mindless A.I. but they also turn into demigods thanks to the stats. If that's what they want, they ought to aim for these armors.

10 Brigandine

BrigandineSet

The Brigandine Armor Set is a classic nod to the typical Viking get-up. Players will notice that it doesn't have any horns and that's the historically accurate version of it. It's a straightforward armor that's perfect for those who like to communicate with big and sharp weapons.

As expected, the Brigandine set is made for warrior archetypes, for close combat. More than that, it grants a good armor advantage if players are literally surrounded by two or more enemies. It also straight-up boosts melee damage. It's great for anyone who always rushes head-first into the fray.

9 Thor's

Who wouldn't want to look like a literal Norse God while commandeering their own Viking ship and letting the Scandinavian sun shine on their glorious armor? The Thor Armor Set is the best way to do achieve this Asgardian dream.

This one's best paired with the Mjolnir or other blunt weapons since it's all about getting the most out of stunning the enemies. Thor's set grants a temporary speed bonus to the players if they stun their enemies. In order to get more stuns, the set also increases the chance of stunning the enemies.

8 Mentor's

All these loud and brash armor sets probably make some players long for a subtle and stabbier outfit. Then the Mentor's Armor Set ought to remedy that. It's made for quick hit-and-run tactics and perhaps a bit of stealth in the mix.

That's because the Mentor's Armor Set increases the player's Attack after scoring Critical Hits. To augment this, the chances of landing critical hits are increased by increasing the player's Attack Speed. It's a vicious cycle that probably leaves many enemies dead before players even stack up the bonuses.

7 Saint George's

Dressing up as a member of the Assassin Brotherhood can get rather monotonous at times. So for those who want to spice things up a bit in the fashion department, looking like a member of the Knights Templar using the Saint George's Armor Set offers a nice change of scenery.

The armor looks like a nod to the Knights Templar attire from the Crusades which are probably just upcoming in the Valhalla timeline. It's also a straightforward combat-focused armor set where the player's Attack increases after impaling an enemy.

6 Hidden Ones'

Okay, forget about the Mentor's Armor Set for stealth, the Hidden Ones' Armor Set is more tailor-made for shady individuals. It's first and foremost, an Assassin Brotherhood armor albeit a loud and shiny one with an Oriental or Middle-Eastern flavor.

In terms of stat boosts, the Hidden Ones' set gives a significant increase to Assassination Damage if the players have been crouched or are undetected for at least 10 seconds. If intimate stabbing fails, they can always resort to bows as this armor set also increases Headshot Damage.

5 Raven Clan

Raven Clan Set

Of course, who could forget one of Valhalla's earliest and most attractive armor sets, the Raven Clan Armor? It's tied with the Brigandine Set for that grizzled Viking look, perfect for raiding or general combat if players are melee-focused.

The cloak and the animal fur just pair well together to make this armor set look elegant yet hardy. And hardy it is since the Raven Clan set increases the player damage as their health goes lower. It also gives a bonus to Critical Chance, making it purely offensive armor.

4 Galloglach

Then again, the Viking style isn't just limited to the Raven Clan and Brigandine Armor Sets as the Galloglach is also a strong contender for that Icelandic warrior look. It even has bigger animal fur coats compared to the other two Viking-themed armor sets and has a darker and tougher appearance.

As players can imagine, this one also focuses more on giving as much melee advantage to characters as possible. The Galloglach set makes players tanky by increasing their Melee Resistance when finishing off enemies. It also adds more to player Melee Damage to balance things out.

3 Carolingian Dynasty

This one's from the in-game store but players can have it for free if they have Amazon Prime. It would quite a shame to skip this one though since it's one of the most unique melee-centric armor sets in the game that isn't a Viking set or a bear pelt.

The Carolingian Dynasty Armor Set is a scale armor with generous amounts of metal to make characters look closer to medieval knights. It's not just for show either; the Carolingian armor rewards having low health and high health whereas the former condition begets increased armor while the latter one grants increased damage.

2 Thegn's

For the grandest appearance ever in Valhalla, possibly next to Thor's set, Thegn's is a head-turner. It's an elegant chainmail that still looks formidable enough for use in battle; if you're heading to the halls of Valhalla, might as well be shiny and chrome anyway.

The armor set is also built for critical damage as it increases the player's Critical Chance whenever they parry. Parrying or not, it also gives a considerable boost to Critical Damage. More than anything though, it's the armor's looks that will win you over.

1 Berserker

It wouldn't be a true Viking RPG now without any mention of berserkers, would it? The Berserker Armor Set is the epitome of that concept in Valhalla and it's downright the most intimidating armor in the game. The headpiece is literally a bear pelt and like any true berserker gear, the character's skin doubles as his armor so it's shown more liberally.

It's only available via the Ultimate DLC though. However, the stat bonuses make the armor worth it since it increases the player's Speed when they take damage as well as a flat increase to Attack and Armor. Heck, even the armor's appearance alone ought to be enough as a weapon.
