Today is a big day for Assassin's Creed fans now that Ubisoft has announced and unveiled the first cinematic trailer for the upcoming installment to the franchise, Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Now, just in time for the announcement of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, PC retailer Steam is currently holding a massive Assassin's Creed franchise sale despite the upcoming game skipping Steam for the Epic Games Store.

Headlining Steam's sale is Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which is the latest installment in the series. Assassin's Creed Odyssey is available on Steam right now for $19.79, which is a whopping 67% off from its original price of $59.99. To the uninitiated, Assassin's Creed Odyssey was initially released back in October of 2018, serving as the eleventh major installment in the franchise. The game revolves around a fictional history that took place during the Peloponnesian War, which is set in 431 BC.

Immediately after its release, Assassin's Creed Odyssey received mostly favorable reviews due to its immersive story and flawless execution of an open-world environment. Although the game was slow to start with a lengthy tutorial island, players would soon find themselves immersed in a bustling environment filled with naval combat, treasures, and quests for players to explore.

Another notable Assassin's Creed game that players can purchase for cheap right now is the 2017 game, Assassin's Creed Origins. Players can get Assassin's Creed Origins for $14.99, which is 75% cheaper than its original price of $59.99. Set in 49 BCE, Assassin's Creed Origins boasts an immersive story and a vast open-world environment that the franchise is known for. With over 24 main quests and 60 side quests in total, Assassin's Creed Origins offer players plenty to do in the game, which could take players around 25 hours to complete on average.
