Assassins Creed Revelations Underground City

The Assassin's Creed games are known as much for their unique brand of gameplay as they are for their incredible story. Free running and climbing are a staple in the games that has taken players to the tops of the towers, but Assassin's Creed Revelations is poised to change that up a little by taking players not just to new heights, but also underground.

It's already been confirmed that gamers are going to be spending the majority of their time in Assassin's Creed Revelations exploring the Ottoman city of Constantinople.

The city split by two continents will be composed of four districts (Constantin, Beyazid, Imperial, and Galata) each with its own visual style to help differentiate them. This will be a nice departure from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, with a Rome that had little to differentiate one district from the next.

It was also announced that gamers were going to journey to Cappadocia, but now thanks to Game Informer, it's been revealed that this location is going to take gamers not to the skies, but beneath the earth's crust instead. While part of the city exists above ground, its true purpose lies underground. In depths of the city gamers will discover an underground Templar stronghold, home to some of the Assassin Order's worst enemies.

Assassins Creed Revelations Cappadocia

Exploring a Templar city will likely come with its own challenges, and hopefully a great deal of secrets to uncover. With so little actually known about the Templar Order and its present-day counterpart Abstergo, Revelations might be the game where we start to get a clearer picture of how the Templar Order sees their side of the conflict.

Gamers will also be returning to Masyaf for the first time since the original Assassin's Creed as Ezio searches for some kind of secret knowledge that was once in Altair's possession. When Ezio arrives he discovers that the Assassin stronghold has been completely overrun by Templar and has to abort his mission.

With Ezio in search of answers, it's likely that Masyaf will be the source of yet another mind-blowing moment at some point in Assassin's Creed Revelations, or at the very least, the discovery of some secret, which will lead us to said mind-blowing moment.

Are you looking forward to exploring the Templar underground of Cappadocia in Revelations?

Assassin's Creed Revelations will be taking the series to new depths on November 15, on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
