Assassin's Creed Revelations is shaping up to be one of the biggest entries yet in a series that has been full of amazing installements, while Rayman Origins has kept itself for the most part in the shadows since it was announced at last year's E3.

Thanks to pre-orders available on a couple major retailers we may have official release dates for both of the upcoming games.

Players who went shopping for games online today would've noticed that two of Ubisoft's titles, Assassin's Creed Revelations and Rayman Origins had been added to the pre-order mix - and strangely each with the same release date. Considering both titles will target very different audiences, it's not unlikely that they could be released on the same day and if Amazon's listing for the games is accurate, look for the games on November 15, 2011.

Assassin's Creed Revelations has been made a big splash recently with an incredible amount of coverage - taking a look at the upcoming game and generating hype for the title's big gameplay reveal at E3. With Ubisoft investing so much into Revelations hype, lets hope that what we see at E3 will deliver and truly make us want to return for more free-running and climbing.

Indeed one of the biggest perceptions that Ubisoft is going to have to squash is that Revelations is just going to bring more of the same to gamers who already felt a little jaded by Assassin's Creed Brotherhood - which didn't innovate the single player experience much (aside from team-assists and upgraded combat mechanics). However, the stand-out addition to Brotherhood was an all new multiplayer experience that managed to retain the spirit of Assassin's Creed while pitting players against each other in a non-traditional online deathmatch.

At the very least, the single player campaign will provide gamers with a lot to ponder as they wait for Assassins Creed 3 - since Revelations allegedly answers more questions than it poses.

Rayman Origins, on the other hand, has been silently awaiting a reveal at E3. Originally slated as a DLC release for Xbox Live and PSN, the project allegedly outgrew its scope and was instead pushed into the full release realm. Details that leaked earlier this month revealed the game was going to be sporting 4 player co-op as well as a design that would be accessible to a new gamer - but built with the hardcore gamer in mind.

Interestingly, the title is now slated for release on the Wii. The unprecedented move, shuffling Rayman Origins from Xbox Live and PSN over to the Wii, may have been inspired by Nintendo's own success with side-scrollers in the past couple years. New Super Mario Bros. Wii also sported 4 player co-op and was an incredibly faithful throwback to the Mario games players enjoyed as kids. Donkey Kong Country Returns followed a similar path one year later.

Ubisoft may be hoping that a more accessible Rayman game will capture the spirit of the original - and make it into a game that can truly stand beside Nintendo's classics as one of the best side-scrolling adventure games in recent years.

Are you going to be pre-ordering Assassin's Creed Revelations, Rayman Origins, or both?

If the pre-order dates turn out to be true, Assassin's Creed Revelations and Rayman Origins will be released on November 15, 2011. Revelations will see release on the Xbox 360, PC, and PS3, while Origins will be a Wii exclusive.
