With many gamers currently working their way through the last tale in the Ezio and Altair chapters of the Assassin’s Creed series (Assassin’s Creed Revelations), some might be itching to jump into the multiplayer once they’re done. To help sway gamers into that very unique mode, Ubisoft has provided a few incentives in the way of DLC packs for gamers to bolster their experience.

While the Ancestors Character Pack -- which releases next week -- is merely a set of four new characters for players to embody during their play session, GameStop has outed a new pack that is a bit more enticing. Dubbed the Mediterranean Traveler Map Pack this DLC offering, as one would expect, features a handful of maps that are found along the Mediterranean.

Among those maps are the lands of Siena, Jerusalem, Dyers, San Donato, Firenze, and the Imperial District of Constantinople. Some of these maps will be familiar to fans of Assassin’s Creed’s previous efforts as they were either visited in the single player, or featured as one of Brotherhood’s MP maps.

It is currently being suggested that the map pack will release on January 24th with a price tag of 320 Microsoft Points ($3.99), but some think that too low for a six-map pack. More likely the maps will set players back $9.99. However, with some of the maps being retreads, Ubisoft could be feeling generous.

Featuring six “new” multiplayer maps, the Mediterranean Traveler DLC just might be the first worth picking up for Assassin’s Creed Revelations. The multiplayer for the game has received a sizeable facelift that incorporates both new modes and some semblance of single player connections, but ultimately it’s about stalking your prey and taking them down.

If Brotherhood was any indication of what Revelations is going to be like, gamers can expect a whole wealth of DLC content to follow, which should include more maps, characters, and modes.

Are you interested in a new map pack for Assassin’s Creed Revelations even though it features some locations gamers may have seen before? What more would you like to see from Revelations in the way of DLC?

Assassin’s Creed Revelations is available now for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
