We’re a mere few days away before jumping back in the Animus and heading back through time to live the memories of two of the greatest assassins ever to (digitally) live in Assassin’s Creed Revelations. It is the end of the Ezio Auditore da Firenze trilogy and the last game in the Ubisoft series to take place in the Renaissance era.
After serving for decades as the top assassin and growing the order by training new recruits, Ezio is on his most intense and high-risk mission yet as he travels to Constantinople and in search of an artifact left behind by Altair which could finally put an end to the war with the Templars. Watch the Assassin’s Creed Revelations launch trailer to see what’s in store for players in the next chapter.
Unlike previous games in the series, Assassin’s Creed Revelations takes place over a shorter span of time and features not just Ezio, but a lot more of Altaïr ibn La-Ahad and Desmond Miles. From what we were told at yesterday’s Revelations media launch event, expect a lot of twists and surprises, especially when it comes to Desmund.
Can’t stop Ezio, even as an aged warrior. That’s our kind of hero. Be sure to check out the Constantinople trailer from yesterday as well as the Assassin’s Creed Revelations multiplayer trailers. Gameplay trailers like these continue to demonstrate why the Assassin’s Creed series would lend itself so well to a film franchise. The fantastic voice acting and epic score don’t hurt, either.
Adding bomb-crafting, a variety of new combat techniques and improvements, as well as a few new pieces of equipment like the hook blade, Revelations continues to refine what has worked well in the last three games. With another Assassin’s Creed confirmed for next year which will introduce another new character, can Ubisoft keep up the quality and story-telling with annual releases or will they have to do something entirely different with a new game engine next time around?
