A new Unreal Engine 5 concept video by YouTube channel TeaserPlay shows what a hypothetical Assassin's Creed remake could potentially look like. The original Assassin's Creed game was released in 2007, establishing Ubisoft's open world action adventure franchise and spawning numerous sequels. It's been well over a decade since the game launched, though, and so there are some who have called on Ubisoft to remake it to meet modern standards.

Ubisoft has not announced any plans to remake the original Assassin's Creed game, though it is available to play on modern consoles thanks to Xbox backward compatibility. But while fans may not be getting a proper Assassin's Creed remake, they can at least imagine what one might look like by checking out a new video uploaded by TeaserPlay, a YouTube channel that specializes in Unreal Engine 5 concept videos.

The video uploaded by TeaserPlay imagines the Assassin's Creed 1 world, but with more detailed visuals. It shows Assassin's Creed 1 protagonist Altair walking around city streets, exploring the game world, and talking with his mentor Al Mualim. An eagle is also spotted overhead on numerous occasions. The video doesn't show Altair performing any assassinations, but it's still rather impressive and should appeal to fans of the franchise.

This isn't the first time that TeaserPlay has made an Unreal Engine 5 concept video based on the Assassin's Creed franchise. In fact, TeaserPlay has made a couple of different Assassin's Creed Unreal Engine 5 videos so far. One that got quite a bit of attention imagined what an Assassin's Creed set in Japan would be like, which proved especially exciting to fans as Japan has been one of the franchise's most highly-requested settings.

A different TeaserPlay Unreal Engine 5 Assassin's Creed video offered a hypothetical version of Assassin's Creed Infinity, a game that fans know for certain is in development. Assassin's Creed Infinity is said to be a live service game that will feature multiple protagonists and be set in numerous locations, but it has yet to be properly unveiled. It's possible that the game will be shown at the upcoming Ubisoft Forward event, but that remains to be seen.

What Assassin's Creed fans can look forward to with certainty is the proper reveal of Assassin's Creed Mirage. After the game leaked online, Ubisoft announced Assassin's Creed Mirage ahead of time, confirming that it will be showcased at the Ubisoft Forward event on September 10 at 12pm PT.

Assassin's Creed is available for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
