It seems that 2018 is starting off strong for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, as The Hidden Ones DLC has recently released for Assassin’s Creed Origins. Moreover, it has been revealed that Assassin’s Creed Rogue is being remastered and released in March. If that wasn’t enough for fans of the longstanding series, it seems they can now expect a New Game + mode.

Redditor BeeKaying took to the official Reddit with a relatively simple question:

“We got the Hidden Ones DLC, and it was great. However, the community has been asking for a New Game + for a while, and the devs said they would be looking into it. Has there been any progress or news regarding a possible New Game +? Or is it still “under consideration?”

Assassin's Creed Origins DLC pack overpriced

BeeKaying may not have been fully expecting a legitimate response, but that is what the Redditor received. A community manager for the official Assassin’s Creed Origins Reddit simply replied, “New Game + is coming. We’ll have more information to share soon.” While no specifics were discussed, this may be exciting news for those interested in re-exploring everything Egypt has to offer.

Needless to say, the community responded warmly to the community manager’s statement. While some may be expecting Ubisoft to charge for the New Game + mode, it is noteworthy that similar updates such as the Nightmare and Horde modes were free with a title update. Although this is simply speculation, it would make sense for Ubisoft to follow a similar model for introducing this mode, but when it releases is anyone’s guess.

Hopefully, 2018 continues to be a strong year for the franchise, as the second DLC for Assassin’s Creed Origins known as The Curse of the Pharaohs releases soon. By then, perhaps, there will be some confirmation on the highly-sought New Game + mode. However, until that releases, Assassin’s Creed Origins still has a lot to offer, such as defending Sinai against the Romans in The Hidden Ones DLC.

Assassin’s Creed Origins is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
