Assassin's Creed Odyssey is one very large game, being more than 60% larger than the map of AC Origins and making it the largest map of any game in the franchise. That's a lot of ground for players to cover, but the development team has given fans an added incentive to explore, as the game also features quite a few interesting Easter eggs.

One such Assassin's Creed Odyssey Easter egg is a rather cute reference to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the award-winning Nintendo Switch exclusive which has an impressive open-world of its own. On the coast of Pandora's Cove (which is to the right of Malis), there is a small inlet where a traveler has abandoned their campfire and belongings. Walk past this and climb to the top and players will come across a circle of rocks with a small statue in the center. Look closer and this statue appears to have two lumps of clay for a body, flower petals for a head and two twigs for arms.

When asked about the mini monument, Ubisoft confirmed that this is indeed a reference to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In the critically acclaimed Nintendo game, players are able to collect something called Korok seeds by finding rocks in order to complete a circle of stones. Once completed, a Korok (which looks like a stick with a leaf for a face), will pop up out of the ground and will reward players with a seed. Naturally, Ubisoft wasn't going to lift the entire gameplay mechanic from the Zelda game, but this Easter egg is still a touching reference to it.

This nod to Legend of Zelda isn't even the only Easter egg that players have found in Assassin's Creed Odyssey so far. Players have also discovered that the Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed universes are connected thanks to an Easter egg. For fans of both Ubisoft franchises, that was a nice little secret for them to find.

It's worth pointing out that Assassin's Creed Odyssey only became available to everyone today. The two Easter eggs that have been found already were done so by those with early access to the game, either by pre-ordering or as members of the media. So with more people getting their hands on the game, expect many more Easter eggs and secrets to be found soon.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is now available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
