Many Assassins Creed fans have been looking forward to a follow-up game in the series since the most recent Assassins Creed game, Assassins Creed: Origins was received so well by the gaming community and by video game critics. Only a few hours after a leak revealed a possible setting, Ubisoft released a very short teaser trailer for the upcoming game, titled Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

From the teaser trailer, it has been confirmed that the various rumours surrounding the new game were true and that the next Assassins Creed game will be set in Greece. The 5-second long teaser trailer shows what appears to be a Greek soldier kicking another soldier off a cliff in the style associated with the Spartan warriors. The teaser trailer also includes a caption that says "See you at E3!", which is a clear indication that Ubisoft will reveal more about the upcoming game at its press conference at E3 on Monday, June 11, at 1:00pm PT.

Ubisoft does not indicate which details about the game will be revealed at E3, but we can assume that the reveal may include a full trailer and perhaps even a release date for the game. Some rumors suggest that Assassins Creed: Odyssey will launch in the fall of 2019, but Ubisoft only just confirmed the game in response to a leak. Chances are the developer had no plans to even mention Odyssey but the leak forced its hand.

Assassins Creed: Origins is considered by many fans to be one of the best Assassins Creed game in the entire series, and many fans feel that Ubisoft is being too hasty with the release of a next Assassins Creed game, since brand new DLC for Assassins Creed: Origins released only a few months ago. Nevertheless fans are likely looking forward to finding out more about Assassins Creed Odyssey at E3, and hope that it can match the high standard of Assassins Creed: Origins.

Assassin’s Creed: Origins is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
