Regardless of whether players choose to control Kassandra or Alexios during Assassin's Creed Odyssey, they'll have problems with the Cult of Kosmos. This villainous group is responsible for breaking the protagonist's family apart.

In retaliation, players can hunt down every single member to wipe them from the face of the earth. However, they don't particularly make their identities known to the world. So, players need to find clues to track them down. Although, that is easier said than done. Not only is the process time-consuming, but some of the clues are tricky to find. Here is how to collect one of the more elusive ones, which is located in Lorkis.

Updated July 24th, 2021 By Ben Jessey: Despite being released several years ago now, people are still playing Assassin's Creed: Odyssey to this day. The title's ability to maintain popularity isn't too surprising because not only is it a great game, but there's so much to do in Odyssey that it remains fresh for a long time.

One of those activities is hunting down the various members of the Cult of Kosmos. Therefore, this would be a perfect time to look back and expand upon the guide about the Lokris Fort Cultist clue. After all, this clue is already among the most confusing ones to find, so the more information, the better. Plus, some instructions have been added on where to find the cult member after players have revealed their identity.

Confusion Over Lorkis Fort

The thing that makes this cultist clue more confusing than most is the game's misleading hint. It says, "The Nation Treasure in Lokris Fort contains a Clue about the Cultists." Most people read that and assume that they have to travel to a place called Lokris Fort.

However, players can search all over the game's giant map - which rivals some of the largest in gaming history -, and they won't find a 'Lokris Fort' anywhere. What the hint is actually referring to is the Xerxes Military fort that is located within Lokris. The hint should really be clearer as players waste plenty of time looking for the Lokris Fort location.

Travel To Lorkis

Lokris is one of the more beautiful locations in the game, and it's situated in the northern area of the map. Players want to be heading to the region's Red Lake Bay area, which isn't too tricky to reach.

There are essentially three ways to get there:

  • Use a viewpoint: Those who have already synchronized the viewpoint nearby can simply fast travel to it.
  • Sail to the area: The Lokris Fort is pretty close to the shore, so traveling by sea is a good option.
  • Go on foot or horseback: This is the longest and most tiresome way to get there, but it's possible if players trek through Boeotia or Phokis first.

Find The Fort

Xerxes Military Fort is hardly among Odyssey's most hidden areas if players know where to look. The simplest way to find the place is to first look for the giant Red Lake that is visible through the in-game map. The Lokris fort is right next to it from the eastern side.

Players who've been there before will see it marked, while others should notice a question mark. It's best to approach from the north-west corner as that'll put players close to the clue.

Find The Chest

The whole fort is pretty big, and it contains several different buildings. This is where the protagonist's friend Ikaros comes in handy. Players should use the eagle to scout the entire area and mark points of interest.

The thing he is looking for is the Nation's Chest. Throughout the game, these things can be pillaged to weaken whichever is the reigning army in that region. The one in question also holds something even better: the cultist clue. The target can be identified by a purple icon that's shaped like a chest. Luckily there's only one in the fort, and it is inside a building in the north-west corner.

Get Past The Enemies

There is a significant amount of enemies within the walls of the fort. And it's up to the player how they go about getting through them. It's possible to sneak past them all, but there's no denying that killing guards (in the game) is satisfying.

That being said, the bloodthirsty players should still stick to stealth and take them down one by one. Fighting them all at once would be regarded as one of the worst decisions players can make in the game. For pacifist players, climbing in through the north-west corner will do most of the work as there shouldn't be many enemies in the way of the precious clue.

The Clue's Exact Location

Once inside the correct building, the right chest is directly facing the front door and can be identified by the shields and weapons that surround it. The equipment can be ignored as they can't be picked up - not that they'd be as useful as the most powerful weapons in the game anyway.

The color of the chest is dependent on who controls the region at the time. If it's Sparta, then it will be red; if Athens is in control, then it'll be blue. While next to it, simply hold the button that's prompted to take what's inside, including the clue.

What To Do With The Clue

Once players have got the clue, they can go into the Peloponnesian League branch of the Cultists menu and reveal the member. It turns out he is a bearded fellow named Skylax the Fair.

He gets the title because of his generosity. In fact, the clue to find him is a note about a donation he made. So, he's not exactly the evilest character in Assassin's Creed history. But with the information gained from Xerxes Military Fort, players can hunt him down to further damage the Cult of Kosmos.

How To Find Skylax The Fair

With the cult member's identity outed, players can find and assassinate the man. He'll always be in Euboea (across the sea from Lokris Fort), but his exact position will change depending on who controls the region.

  • If Sparta is in charge: Skylax will be the leader of the Abantis Islands, and he'll be in Chalkis City. The place is situated towards the bottom of the Dirfi Foothills area. He'll usually be roaming the streets or camping in his home. Ikaros can help with the search.
  • If Athens is in control: The cultist will be a lot easier to take out if Sparta holds no power in the region. Skylax will be camping in the forest of Artemision Point with few defenses. Once again, Ikaros can help find his exact location as he'll roam around.

Either way, take him down to deal another blow against the Cult of Kosmos.
