The Assassin's Creed games have built themselves up quite reliably with every new entry. The jump from AC: 3 to Black Flag was pretty drastic, but nowhere near as drastic as the jump to the new Origins style they've settled on now. It's part of the reason why the franchise is popular enough to show up in Super Smash Bros, cut movie deals, and excite fans every time another installment is released.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey is a gigantic leap forward in terms of style. Previous games would have one or two amazing armor sets at most, but not Odyssey. In a free update a few months after its release, Ubisoft gave players the ability to transmog any items to have to look like anything else they've ever picked up. Given this many choices to make in wardrobe, it's no surprise that some of these uniforms are spot on while others miss the mark entirely.

Updated November 27th, 2020 by Hodey Johns: With Assassin's Creed Valhalla in full swing, Ubisoft has likely put their finishing touches on Assassin's Creed Odyssey, leading to a deep divide in gamers that argue one is better than the other. Assuming the expansion packs and DLC additions have been completed, this was the best time to update this list so as to include all of the beautiful and trashy outfits. The base game is well represented here, but other nominations since the publication of this article deserved enough recognition to make the cut.

10 Best: The First Civilization Set

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Kassandra The First Civilization Set

The Fields of Elysium DLC promised a new outfit to match a strange, new location and it delivered. There's garish armor, and then there is this. Gamers like when the armor tries to be loud and obnoxious, but only when it matches the design theme.

A fire-based armor should look fiery. Many of the pieces of this armor are from the gods themselves, so it looks like it should. As a bonus, it's relatively simple to acquire; completing all of the main story missions in the Fields of Elysium will yield this hot commodity.

9 Worst: The Artemis Set

Assassins Creed Odyssey Kassandra Artemis Set

Players will go through the longest, most expansive side quest in the game as they hunt down legendary creatures from multiple countries and continents. The reward? A set of gear that is an eyesore and pays almost no homage to its inspiration.

Kassandra might express frustration over characters that aren't romanceable, but players talking to them in this gear might want to look in the mirror when considering why they got rejected. Without fur or camouflage, aside from a tiny antler on the arm, these raggedy brown rags don't live up to the incredible hunter they are named after.

8 Best: The Hades Set

Assassin's Creed Odyssey Hades Set With Defeated Cyclops

The Hades set is way louder than any other armor on here, it might as well be an armor set from something like Darksiders for all we could tell. Still, it's radical, in the most juvenile sort of way. It's black, it's glowing all over like an Alienware laptop, and it's so heavy-metal.

As long as the armor set looks like something that was designed rather than thrown together, it's hard to hate it. Gamers are suckers for glowy bits on anything, so of course, this gets a thumbs up. If this game gets to the silver screen, this is the set fans would prefer to see Kassandra wear.

7 Worst: The Demigod Set

Assassins Creed Odyssey Demigod Set Kassandra With Bird

Imagine a craftsman dreaming of creating armor worthy of being worn by the gods or demi-gods. Imagine that they want to create something that screams "above humanity". Imagine they want to design a set of armor so elite that it seems supernatural. Then, at the end of it all, imagine that this person comes up with a lame basic set of Golden armor with a dinky crown.

That's the Demigod Set given to Kassandra at the end of her fights with Deimos and Aspasia. Weirdly, the DLC and side missions have some amazing looking armor, but the main story quests seem to reward the player with basic look "Godly" sets.

6 Best: The Greek Heroes Set

Assassins Creed Odyssey Kassandra In Greek Heroes Set

Players that want to become unkillable often have this gear in their sights because it's damage mitigation is unreal. Unfortunately, gamers will often have a favorite set of cosmetic gear by this point and will miss out on one of the game's best outfits.

Not only is it shiny and thematic, but it gives off this golden aura that really transports the entire idea of Kassandra from one of a filthy sword-for-hire to a demi-goddess. If players are looking to dress-to-impress for a date with their favorite romance option, this armor comes highly recommended.

5 Worst: The Amazon Set

Assassins Creed Odyssey Kassandra Amazon Gear Set

This gear suffers from trying to compromise. Stuck somewhere in between mythical accuracy and Wonder Woman, the Amazon set does neither one justice. As the only gear set in the game not worn by both characters (Alexios gets the Achilles armor instead), this was a chance to bring out her feminine warrior side. Instead, she got a masculine bustier with a tiara.

There are many hidden areas of the game, but players should be thankful that the location of the Amazonian warriors is not one of them. If Kassandra were to show up there in this brown, yawn-inducing set, she'd be dismissed as a shepherd or a ranchhand, not the fearless mercenary she is inside.

4 Best: The Spartan War Hero Set

Critics will always be comparing the canonical Kassandra with her brother Alexios, and this is part of an ongoing problem for gamers at large; female and male characters are treated differently, especially when it comes to armor design.

Instead of making Alexios look powerful and Kassandra look sexy, the Spartan War Hero set looks the same for each, giving both a shining helmet and chiseled abs. Seeing it in combat on Kassandra really brings power and sexiness together perfectly.

3 Worst: The Celestial Set

Assassins Creed Odyssey Kassandra Wearing Celestial Outfit

In general, it looks like a poorly done Greek God Raiden cosplay. Under the microscope, the suit gets even more baffling. On Alexios, the Celestial set looks pretty great, but on Kassandra, there are a couple of weird differences.

First, she's wearing this weird white bodysuit underneath the armor. Granted, Alexios is too, but until this point the both of them would have slight variations on the chest armor due to their different builds and genders. Second, her crown is only a hair accessory while Alexios gets an actual crown.

2 Best: The Mercenary Set

Assassins Creed Odyssey Kassandra Mercenary Set T Pose

The Mercenary set is the promotional armor worn on the cover of the game, and there's a reason for that. A lot of the armor pieces in Odyssey get complaints because they all look a bit similar. Why? Because they're all trying to imitate the same cohesiveness the team nailed with the Mercenary set early on.

This set can be purchased from blacksmiths or found in chests, meaning its stats can essentially be re-rolled. Between the feature, the numbers, and the ruggedness, the costume has become so iconic that the best cosplayers still use it as a guideline for their Kassandra looks.

1 Worst: The Pirate Set

Assassins Creed Odyssey Pirate Set On Kassandra Midsection

Players are given the task to hunt down renegade members of the cult sailing the Aegean Sea. It's one of the multiple areas of the game where players either love or hate the environment. Hopefully fans love this area because they'll be spending a lot of time here killing these cultists since each one has a piece of the Pirate set.

For a studio that has made Assassin's Creed pirates from Edward Kenway to Adéwalé look awesome, it's unbelievable this outfit is so plain. No skull and crossbones, no feathery hat, no sizzle at all. Even the black is more of a faded grey, which managed to look worse when mixed with other out-of-place colors and patterns.
