Ubisoft has released some excellent post-launch DLC for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, including the Fate of Atlantis which give players an enormous wide-open new area to explore. Now, owners of the game can download the expansion for free for a limited time.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey came out last October and has since continued to grow. The main game already features over 100 hours of content in the story and side missions alone where players can explore the entire country of Greece. Since its release, the game has seen a couple of expansions, one of which takes place in the same open world as the rest of the game. The other one, Fate of Atlantis, opens up the mythical paradise of Elysium for players to explore while they experience a new kind of story.
Now, Ubisoft wants all of Assassin's Creed Odyssey's fans to try out Fate of Atlantis. For a limited time, players can download a free copy of the expansion on any platform they want, including PlayStation 4, UPlay, Steam, and Xbox One. Once players download the DLC, they can keep it and continue to play it even after the sale has ended.
The Fate of Atlantis DLC splits its story across three different episodes. The three episodes tell the story of Kassandra's or Alexios' mythical journey underwater to Elysium. The first Episode, Fields of Elysium, sets up the tale and introduces players to the new location. Once players complete the episode, they will have too buy the rest of the episodes in order to continue. The new area includes some of Assasin's Creed Odyssey's notoriously good side quests.
Players who decide they would like to finish Fate of Atlantis and also play through the first DLC Legacy of the First Blade can get the game's season pass, which Ubisoft has also discounted as part of the promotion. Until September 1, players can download the season pass for 50% off its normal price. The season pass includes all of the DLC plus a free copy of Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered in which players can explore a touched up version of the game's colonial Boston. The season pass will be $19.99 until September 1st.
At this point, Ubisoft has moved on from Assassin's Creed Odyssey in order to look ahead to the next Assassin's Creed, which might take place in China. However, the team did a great job supporting Odyssey through its long run. For anyone who needs an excuse to jump back in after a while, this free DLC might just the reason.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is available now on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version also in development.
