A fan has translated the text that appears on the Basim statue which comes with the collector’s edition of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes the series back to its roots as it will have a bigger focus on stealth and parkour. While it doesn’t have a set release date, it’s supposed to launch sometime next year.

The collector’s edition of Assassin’s Creed Mirage comes with a few exciting goodies. Along with the base game, this edition comes with a Prince of Persia-inspired outfit, a steelbook case, a map of Baghdad, both digital and physical versions of the soundtrack and artbook, and more items. Most notably, it has a 32cm figurine of protagonist Basim, with some text inscribed on it.

A user named chrischris1541 made a post on the Assassin’s Creed subreddit asking if others had translated the text. A fan with the username BIG0H claims to be from Kuwait and goes on to translate the text on the Assassin's Creed Mirage statue into English. They mention that it translates to "From darkness come toward the light" or "Out of the darkness came out into the light." Another gamer by the name of Spiritual-Neck-2957 states that it translates to "from the dark, out towards the light," with others also suggesting similar phrases.

One player claims that a direct translation into English won’t be that effective, but it looks like users can grasp the meaning behind the words. This is followed by a discussion of how this phrase relates to Assassin’s Creed lore. Some fans jokingly post incorrect translations, such as "do not preorder," but many express their excitement for Assassin’s Creed Mirage’s launch.

In addition to going back to the series’ roots, Assassin’s Creed Mirage will not have any playable modern-day segments. With this game, Ubisoft decided to focus entirely on Basim’s background and past. Players are naturally still inside the Animus, but there will not be any playable present-day sequences.

Furthermore, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is not a fully-priced release as it will cost $50 at launch, with the deluxe and collector’s editions priced at $60 and $150 respectively. However, Ubisoft has confirmed that it will start charging more for its big AAA games, so fans can expect to see upcoming AAA Ubisoft games priced at $70. Other publishers have been charging the same amount for current-gen games, and this price will probably become the standard going forward.

Assassin's Creed Mirage releases in 2023 for Luna, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
