One Assassin’s Creed fan recently showed off their dedication to the franchise by recreating screenshots from the series in real life. During their visit to France and Italy, this fan matched iconic locations from multiple Assassin's Creed games to their real-life counterparts.

Famous-BlueRaincoat was the Assassin’s Creed fan responsible for taking these clever pictures. They recently posted their collage of comparison screenshots on the Assassin’s Creed subreddit, which showcased their recreations of scenes from Unity and Brotherhood.

From Assassin’s Creed Unity, Famous-BlueRaincoat took pictures in front of the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris, France. During a visit to Rome, Italy, Famous-BlueRaincoat also took pictures in front of the Arch of Constantine, Coliseum, and Castel Sant’Angelo found in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. They also visited the Pantheon and took interior shots of the Oculus and the Temple of All Martyrs within it. Famous-BlueRaincoat even included themselves wearing a hood in shots where the Assassin's Creed player characters Ezio or Arno were visible. When placed side-by-side with their video game counterparts, one can barely tell the difference.

Despite being a game full of mystical artifacts, ancient secrets, and precursor races, the overworld of Assassin’s Creed is lauded for its historical accuracy. Though it gets fast and loose with some of its lore, Assassin’s Creed does an excellent job of recreating famous landmarks. This even led Assassin’s Creed to develop Discovery Tour mode for Origins, which enables players to explore ancient Egypt without combat or quests. This mode was so well received that it was expanded to Valhalla and Odyssey, and is used as an educational tool around the globe.

Fellow Assassin’s Creed fans were quick to praise Famous-BlueRaincoat for the screenshots they took during their adventures. Many fans were jealous of the trip and looked forward to doing similar projects on their own future world tours. Other fans shared their own stories of visiting iconic locations from Assassin’s Creed, joking that it was surreal to “[see] the game map in real life.” The wholesome post brightened the day of Assassin’s Creed fans and history buffs alike.

With 12 main games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise so far, dozens of cities and landmarks have appeared somewhere in the series. Fans who visit these places and learn about their historical significance will always be able to compare the real-life facts and sights to the ones found in Assassin’s Creed. With Mirage visiting Iraq, and Codename Red, Jade, and Hexe taking place in Japan, China, and somewhere in Europe respectively, fans will soon have plenty of new places to visit in real life after seeing their in-game Assassin's Creed counterparts.
