Assassin's Creed Brotherhood New Map Facebook

If you're a fan of the critically acclaimed Assassin's Creed franchise, and you happen to have a Facebook account, then we have good news for you! The newest game in the franchise, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, is set to have a new multiplayer DLC map, and it only requires you to friend the official Assassin's Creed Facebook page (located right here).

In addition to the new map, titled Venezia by Night, Ubisoft promises to release a T-shirt in commemoration of the event, a "thank you" video from the development team, a special giveaway on the Facebook page, and a 15% discount on Ubiworkshop for one day. All these goodies will be released to the fans once the Facebook page in question reaches the much-coveted 1 million friends.

At the time of this writing, the number of friends of the Facebook page (this writer included) was at approximately 965,000 friends. If you want all the stuff mentioned on this page, then take a few minutes and add the Assassin's Creed Facebook page to your friends. Get your friends to do the same. Get their friends to do the same, and so on, and so on. All it'll cost you is a few minutes of your time.

Oddly enough, this isn't the first time Ubisoft has done something unique with promises of new content being the eventual prize. As a nice present for the holidays, Ubisoft promised a nighttime variant of the Rome multiplayer map if players could get a total of 25 million kills. This seems to indicate that Ubisoft likes to make its fans work for their content, though it also has the added motive of getting players online.

The question is, why Facebook? Sure, just about everyone and their mother has a Facebook account now, so getting to one million friends certainly isn't an impossibility. Maybe they just want recognition of their popularity? Whatever the case, it shows Ubisoft thinking outside the box, which may be a repeated occurrence if this proves to be a popular move.

Ranters, are you looking forward to a new Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer map? Have you friended the Facebook page?

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood came out in November of 2010 to glowing reviews, and is available for the Xbox 360 and the PS3. It is also set to come out for the PC sometime this year.
