As if there weren't already enough special, regular, and collector's editions of Assassin's Creed 3 in existence (or soon to be brought into existence) already, Ubisoft has unveiled yet another one — this one titled the Ubiworkshop Edition. Retailing for $100, a hefty sum for any video game, the Ubiworkshop Edition comes with a copy of the game, the second edition of the Assassin's Creed Encyclopedia, and the two Assassin's Creed comic books (one that has already released and one that releases later this summer).

Essentially the $100 price tag comes as a result of the encyclopedia's inclusion, which retails on its own for $50. The first edition of the Assassin's Creed encyclopedia was put together by Ubisoft using fan support, and this second edition promises to be the most comprehensive yet.

The other part of the package that inflates the retail price is the inclusion of Assassin's Creed Subject 4, a collection of the graphic novels The Chain and The Fall. The so far two-part series follows the exploits of Russian Assassin Nikolai Orelov as interpreted by his descendant Daniel Cross. The Chain is set to release in the summer of 2012, and itself features a Deluxe Edition complete with a prologue, but there's no word on which edition ships with Ubiworkshop.

Grand total the Ubiworkshop Edition offers some 500+ pages of AC content, making it a must for any fan of the franchise thus far. Since the franchise is taking a huge step with this third iteration — introducing a new character and a new setting — it's only fitting that a substantial incentive is offered.

Anyone that is interested in picking up the Ubiworkshop Edition should do so soon because the price jumps up to $110 after July 4th, because, you know, Independence Day and all. It's a pretty sweet deal for any Assassin's Creed fan that was thinking about picking up the encyclopedia, The Chain, or any combination thereof. Oh, and of course you get a copy of Assassin's Creed 3.

Will you be picking up the Ubiworkshop Edition of Assassin's Creed 3? Any encyclopedia or The Fall owners want to comment on the quality of either?

Assassin's Creed 3 releases October 30, 2012 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
