Stroll Through the Countryside in New ‘Assassin’s Creed 3’ Screenshots

By | 5 years ago

Assassin’s Creed 3 has a lot to offer fans in terms of new content, both in the form of a new main character and an exciting new time period, but this is still the next entry in a franchise that fans come to for a certain type of experience. As such, some new screenshots for the game have leaked online that, instead of focusing on flashy kills, show the game in its more traditional form.

It should come as no surprise that, while featuring a new protagonist, new climbing mechanics, and a new setting, that Assassin’s Creed 3 will carry many of the key markers of the series. The design of the game does feature a few visual flourishes, but ultimately this is a game that any Assassin’s Creed fan will be able to recognize.

Early details for the game have already explained many of protagonist Connor’s new weapons, like the tomahawk and pistol, but seeing them as combat options is all the more tantalizing. Still, this is a stealth-based action game, and now more than ever it appears that the game’s assassin will be sticking out like a sore thumb amidst the lush green environments.

Another important feature of the screenshots, and something that Ubisoft has explained already, is the ongoing battles that will be taking place with or without Connor’s involvement. Considering two factions battling for an entire country it’s now easy to see how a man in a very detailed white robe could travel unnoticed.

With PAX East 2012 in full force, Assassin’s Creed fans can expect more details for Ubisoft’s highly anticipated title in the forthcoming days. Though a trailer was released for the game it only featured pre-rendered action, and didn’t give gamers a true sense of the gameplay. If these screenshots are any indication, then Assassin’s Creed 3 should have plenty of new and exciting things to offer.

What do you think of these Assassin’s Creed 3 screenshots? Were you expecting something that looked a little different?

Assassin’s Creed 3 releases October 30, 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
