Assassin's Creed 3 brought players to the late 18th century during the American Revolution. With the cities of Boston and New York as well as an open wilderness to explore, players were able to hunt and fight during an epic confrontation. Its popularity with players led Ubisoft to release Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered in 2019. And it is in this remaster that one player brought to light an odd glitch in cutscenes involving the assassin outfit.

Assassin's Creed 3 originally came out in 2012 and was the first game to follow the conclusion of the Ezio Auditore trio of games. Its remaster was built with enhanced visuals, lighting and resolution, as well as modified game mechanics. And, though it altered and enhanced the original Assassin's Creed 3, this remaster had its own share of occasional glitches and bugs.

In this scene, shared by u/C1oud9Skywalker on the Assassin's Creed subreddit, main character Connor is meeting with one of the settlers from the Homestead. The Homestead, as players of the original and remaster of Assassin's Creed 3 will know, is a wide area of land on which players can build up their trading resources through missions. In this particular moment though, the coloring of Connor's assassin outfit has changed. In the cutscene there is an added red accent on the interior of the outfit's coat which doesn't appear during regular gameplay. A strange glitch in the game considering how iconic and recognizable the outfit is with Assassin's Creed 3.

As with most games, glitches occasionally plagued parts of the original Assassin's Creed 3. Patches after the initial release of this game addressed players getting stuck in certain areas of the world, sounds not always occurring, and NPCs spawning away from where they were meant to. It is likely that an outfit changing color in a cutscene is just a leftover anomaly. Although some comments point to this design dating back to an early version of the game and therefore being what the developer's originally intended.

The complexity of games in this era have led to ambitious titles, especially in the Assassin's Creed series. But that complexity has been accompanied by a fair share of issues. Issues have been relatively common in major video game releases and this moment is an example of one of the more minor ones that get through.

Fortunately for u/C1oud9Skywalker, this moment is one that doesn't affect how the game plays. Though a bit distracting, this change only adds a different look to an iconic outfit from the series.

Assassin's Creed 3 Remastered is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
