Assassins Creed 3 Gameplay Teaser Trailer

After an initial flood of information regarding Assassin’s Creed 3 it’s been slow going for the past couple weeks. Though there have been details revealed here and there what gamers have really been clamoring for is some good old fashioned gameplay footage.

As it just so happens Ubisoft has that gameplay footage ready and raring to go, they just need fans help in order to unlock it. All one needs to do is head on over to the Assassin’s Creed 3 Facebook page and complete three different tasks in order to add to a global total. Once that global total reaches 1,776,000 (an appropriate number considering the time period for this AC adventure) shares Ubisoft promises that they will reveal the first gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated game.

At this point the goal is still 3/4s of its total away, but thankfully Ubisoft has released a little promotional trailer for the contest to give gamers a little incentive. Just this trailer alone would have been an exciting enough new reveal for Assassin’s Creed 3 — as it shows of two of protagonist Connor‘s new weapons — but the promise of lengthier footage should get everyone out there and sharing.

Included in the trailer are some looks at the game’s new weather effects and some of the new tools that players will have at their disposal. Unless it’s a complete misdirection, it appears like the iconic hidden blade of the assassins has received a serious upgrade.

Once this promotion gains a little bit more traction fans can expect that the trailer will hit before the week is up. During PAX East gamers and press were treated to extensive looks at the game in action, but unfortunately those who were not in attendance could only read about the game. Finally, though, it will be time to truly see how far this series has come since making a splash in 2007.

Have you already done your part to unlock the Assassin’s Creed 3 gameplay trailer? What do you hope to see in the trailer that hasn’t yet been detailed?

Assassin’s Creed 3 releases October 30, 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.
