Asmongold is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch, despite not being on the platform recently. After taking a break due to a house fire incident, he then announced he was taking a longer break after his mother's passing.

Despite stepping away from Twitch due to personal grief, Asmongold is still uploading YouTube videos and keeping in touch with his community. In one of these recent videos Asmongold discussed a new development in the ongoing drama involving him and World of Warcraft, a game he became famous for streaming. This new development centers on a new initiative on Blizzard's part regarding World of Warcraft, and it's a bit strange to say the least.

World of Warcraft recently launched an initiative for a Community Council made up of players and WoW community contributers. Basically, players very involved in the game would get together and discuss the game, running their suggestions and observations up to Blizzard to help the game run smoother. As Asmongold has many criticisms of WoW, he'd be a perfect fit, and after first thinking he wouldn't join, he decided to send in an application. This happened after getting a duplicate of some loot he already had after a difficult boss fight, an incident which apparently made him decide something had to be done to address the problems with World of Warcraft and he had the insight to do it.

Asmongold's application to the Council was snarky to say the least, openly criticizing the way WoW operates when it comes to collectibles and late-game gameplay. It does not praise World of Warcraft or its parent company in the slightest and is brutally honest, as would be expected from Asmongold. What was unexpected was Blizzard's response, which said that Asmongold's request ticket had been resolved with the following response: no response posted.

This is confusing to say the least. Such a response could mean that his ticket has been rejected by being placed in limbo forever. This would make sense, since Asmongold has had nothing good to say about WoW for a while and Blizzard may want nothing to do with him. It also wouldn't be the first time a company would refuse to allow Asmongold a more intimate relationship, as Twitch would not give him a custom contract.

Of course, that's not to say Twitch and Asmongold's business isn't cozy, especially if the recent Twitch leak is to be believed (though Asmongold says it is not). It's also not to say that Asmongold would not be perfect for a Council created, supposedly, to point out what's wrong with WoW. Maybe he really will get the position, but it isn't likely.

World of Warcraft is available on PC.
