Several popular Twitch streamers have been criticized for gambling streams, and Asmongold has been one of the streamers that took a stance against those types of streams. One of Asmongold's personal friends and fellow streamer xQc took some offense to his comments and some other recent comments Asmongold made, which Asmongold has now responded to.
Asmongold has recently been embroiled in some controversy over statements he's made about a recent One True King Twitch stream. A "Friendsgiving" stream hosted by the streamer collective known as OTK that took place on November 21 led to some issues between Asmongold and the other streamer attendees after some miscommunication. OTK is led by Asmongold, Mizkif, and Esfand, and the situation caused some friction between Asmongold and Esfand.
During the Friendsgiving event, a Twitch streamer known as Minx pretended to be under the influence of the painkiller Oxycodone and wanted to celebrate the occasion with some alcohol as well. This is when One True King co-founder and fellow Twitch streamer Esfand got in between Minx and the alcohol as he was under the impression that Oxycodone was already in her system and mixing the two is a bad idea. Asmongold recently said everyone at the Friendsgiving stream was in the wrong after for what happened, but after xQc responded to that and his gambling stream comments, he has changed his position.
Asmongold and xQc are friends and xQc was quick to remind his Twitch community of that before getting into his comments about what Asmongold said about his gambling streams. Streaming to Twitch while reacting to a video about gambling streams, xQc said that Asmongold is his friend, but he isn't his father. In both Asmongold's response to the OTK situation and to xQc's gambling streams, the streamer seemingly took the same approach in trying to direct the actions of others.
"I can do what I want, right?" said xQc during his recent Twitch stream responding to Asmongold. "If you’re somebody’s friend, who are you to tell them what to do and what not to do, right?” The popular Just Chatting Twitch streamer respectfully criticized his friend as his words may sometimes rub people the wrong way. Asmongold was reflecting on both the OTK Friendsgiving situation as well as xQc's response to it during a recent Twitch stream in which he was playing New World.
After some reflection, Asmongold admitted that the situation between him and OTK co-founder Esfand was stupid and he suggested it's due to him getting in "really weird headspaces." Among having some of his own criticisms of himself, Asmongold also stated that xQc is right about his comments on Twitch gambling streams and the OTK drama. Asmongold also confirmed that he wants to be less negative with his friends and fellow Twitch streamers moving forward, suggesting that the issues between him and Esfand may be resolved as well.
