During a livestream on his alt channel, Asmongold revealed that his main Twitch channel may never go live again. The owner of OTK Media has been embroiled in Twitch drama in recent weeks with fellow OTK co-founder Mizkif in the center of an ongoing controversy. While he is not directly involved with the Mizkif allegations, Asmongold has been vocal with his opinions about the recent Twitch controversies surrounding creators like Mizkif, Slick, and Sliker. Now, the popular content creator is questioning if he'll ever return to the Asmongold Twitch channel.

Asmongold's shocking revelation came during a recent Twitch broadcast on his alt account, Zackrawrr, playing the release of World of Warcraft Classic's Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Asmongold expressed his own insecurities about returning to the channel amidst the controversy surrounding OTK, with the drama causing significant mental distress for the streamer. Asmongold even claimed he was "having a panic attack" at the thought of streaming on his main when composing a tweet for the stream that morning.

While Asmongold himself is not directly involved in any of the ongoing controversies, he has attachments to several recent Twitch events. Asmongold had long pushed for Twitch to place stricter regulations on gambling content in live streams or ban gambling entirely, with Twitch recently banning gambling streams. He has also pushed for Sliker to be banned following the revelation of the creator scamming hundreds of thousands of dollars from fans and fellow streamers. As well, Mizkif's previously mentioned drama has close ties to Asmongold with both acting as co-founders of gaming organization OTK Media.

A sunsetting of the main Asmongold account would see one of Twitch's most subscribed channels going dark. Asmongold has grown one of the most iconic names in streaming since his YouTube debut in 2009 and his main Twitch account currently boasts over 3 million followers. However, his alt account, Zackrawrr, does still hold a respectable follower count totaling just under 1 million. Asmongold has also been credited as a major influencer in the online gaming community, credited as playing a significant role in Final Fantasy 14's spike in popularity last year.

Asmongold's potentially permanent switch to his alt channel comes as Twitch has seen a plethora of major changes in recent weeks. Alongside the previously mentioned controversies and gambling ban, Twitch also introduced a new revenue split change that has received backlash from both streamers and fans. Many creators have even chosen to leave the platform entirely as a result of the changes, with top talents like CodeMiko already confirming they'll be leaving Twitch. While Asmongold may lose some viewership with his transition to his alt channel, the creator will still hold one of Twitch's largest and most passionate fanbases.
