Twitch streamer Asmongold recently made his triumphant return to Final Fantasy 14. Asmongold took an extended break from the MMO despite once being one of the faces behind its surge in popularity, but has found the will (or the gap in other content) to return once more. Yet Asmongold's return to Final Fantasy 14 is already at risk of being derailed. The Twitch streamer recently told his audience that he may even quit Final Fantasy 14 unless they get their behavior in check.

What Asmongold doesn't want to happen is for his Twitch stream and his community to be overtaken by aggressive Final Fantasy 14 fans again. The issue came up when Asmongold visited his Twitch channel's official subreddit, only for a significant amount of Final Fantasy 14 content to overtake it. Asmongold then explains that this is just one example of how Final Fantasy 14 fans take over, also mentioning that they'll often get angry in his community if he isn't playing.

"It's very constraining" is how Asmongold characterizes the issue, as the situation can get out of hand and suddenly everything he does is seen and judged through a Final Fantasy 14 filter. It won't change what kind of content Asmongold produces, of course, because it won't change his behavior. But, as Asmongold puts it, it creates two potential scenarios. Either Asmongold does what he wants and his community enjoys it, or Asmongold does what he wants and the community is angry and unwelcoming. Final Fantasy 14, in Asmongold's opinion, leans toward the second scenario.

For now, Asmongold isn't choosing to abandon Final Fantasy 14 again, but his threat to quit Final Fantasy 14 comes across as very genuine. If the community can't stay positive and understand there's more to Asmongold's channel than the MMO, then Asmongold could very easily find something else to do.

What's especially odd about the situation is that Asmongold says this only happens with Final Fantasy 14. For a Twitch streamer who has been successful playing many different games, whether it's World of Warcraft or even Diablo Immortal, that Final Fantasy 14 draws this kind of cloying negativity is odd. It's especially odd because Final Fantasy 14 has a reputation for a very positive, helpful, and welcoming community.

It's safe to assume that Asmongold likely isn't going to be playing as much Final Fantasy 14 as he used to, regardless of his community's choices. The Twitch streamer has found a new level of success doing Let's Chat streams, react videos, and "Flavor of the Week" game streams. It's just as likely something new will come along and steal Asmongold's attention, too. That's just the nature of Twitch, so Final Fantasy 14 fans watching Asmongold should stay positive and enjoy the streams while they last.
