Twitch streamer Asmongold is known for both his criticism of World of Warcraft, along with his love for the game. In a recent stream, he called out the World of Warcraft game director for not doing his job right and invited him to Twitch for a debate on stream.

Asmongold has built a large part of his success on his love of World of Warcraft while also being critical of the game. Recently, he said he was "done" with World of Warcraft after the release of many disappointing patches that seemingly did nothing to improve the game and only added things he didn't like. Many fans were not happy with his decision, but he was firm on his stance and opinions.

On a recent Twitch stream, Asmongold called out World of Warcraft game director Ion Hazzikostas for being bad at his job and calling him a "bad game director." "I think Ion doesn’t understand player psychology," Asmongold said of the game director, "I think he doesn’t understand why players do things." He also pointed out that Hazzikostas only raids when he plays, therefore only focusing on that kind of content instead of more beneficial things for World of Warcraft. Asmongold then explained that exclusively raiding is okay, but he also invited Hazzikostas to come on stream with him, so they can debate on the issues.

Asmongold said on stream that he has spoken to Hazzikostas in the past and acknowledges that he has some good points, but he also wants the game director to understand what needs to be done. In addition, Asmongold referred to Blizzard not having much to lose while attempting to reach out to Hazzikostas on his stream. This is of course referring to lawsuits and accusations against Blizzard for sexual misconduct and mistreatment of its female employees.

It's important for game directors and other ranking members of a video game company to be open to player feedback. Asmongold has been especially critical of changes such as loot boxes and microtransactions added to World of Warcraft in 2021, therefore, his opinions directly to a member of the game staff would be influential. Asmongold has a huge following, and it goes without saying that if Hazzikostas agreed to join him on stream, it could help his reputation and public opinion.

Asmongold does seem genuine in his pleas to help Hazzikostas understand what he's supposedly been doing wrong with World of Warcraft, but it also could sound like a grasp for views. Having Hazzikostas join Asmongold for a debate or discussion on stream is very likely to bring in millions of views both out of curiosity and for fans of the game that want to be in on the action. That being said, Asmongold's opinions are just as valid as any other fan's criticism of World of Warcraft and should be heard by game devs all the same.

World of Warcraft is available now on PC.
