Respawn Entertainment's Apex Legends is a game relies heavily on its alternate character skins, with some special ones only available via Twitch Prime subscription like the Gilded Rose variant for season four headliner Revenant. That means much like with other customization-heavy titles such as Epic Games' Fortnite, there are plenty of fans creating concepts they want to see for the bevy of characters who are continually added into the game.

One such fan who has been putting out excellent Apex Legends concepts is an artist who goes by Wolfdawg on Twitter. In just the last 24 hours he released two pieces of art for the game: A complete overhaul for the defensive character Gibraltar that turns him into a shark wearing a water-filled suit, and a cowboy Western-inspired look for the high-speed offensive character Octane.

Gibraltar in particular has been a hotly contested Legend because of his defensive capabilities that were so high he received a nerf through an update from Respawn on March 3. This was at the same time as the Recon Legend Crypto received a major buff allowing his primary weapons to reload when controlling his drones.

The artist has uploaded over 1,000 pieces of art since 2017 on DeviantArt, where he goes by Wolfdog. Among that catalog are other Apex Legends drawings that intermingle with Respawn Entertainment's first-person shooter series Titanfall, including a Legend concept for a rabbit-like character named RUNT uploaded to Twitter on February 29, 2020.

His art has also spanned a variety of other games, including For Honor, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, SMITE, Anthem, Dungeons & Dragons, and so many more. Wolfdawg even jumped on the Animal Crossing: New Horizons hype train with artwork crossing the series over with God of War uploaded to Twitter on February 24.

Concerns surrounding the global Coronavirus outbreak have led to EA postponing the Apex Legends Global Series that was set to take place the weekend of March 13, alongside other events which have been outright cancelled like SXSW and the Game Developers Conference. Luckily there are artists like Wolfdawg out there giving the world plenty to enjoy from fan-favorite series in the meantime.

Apex Legends is free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
